I'm never sure what to say in one of these posts.  I guess I'll ramble on a bit and you can decide if you want to read it or not, okay?   Just got FFXIV for my birthday (yesterday, October 9th), but I have been loosely following the info about the game for months.  I did a little searching to find out about which servers are RP servers or which had any RP communities and came across this place. I'm a long time RPer, although I haven't been quite as active in the last couple of years as I'd have liked due to various factors.  I still haven't decided on a server or made a character yet, but mostly because I keep toying with character creation options and want to make sure everything is perfect to fit the character I have in mind. Hope to meet some of you around soon!!
