If you have the chance and would like to get an idea of what kind of groups are out there right now I suggest taking a look at the "linkshell hall" on the above bar (it includes free companies, but most have linkshell options.) As well as the forums of course.
Make sure to ask any questions you have, check out the wiki, maybe hop into an event or two thats happening. (Such as this weekend.) its more than alright to learn as you go. You can touch base with most people through a tell or just a walk up and chat.
A few people even tag themselves in their search info (me included). Side note, nice to see another progression player, though I haven't made much progress in 2.0.
