Even webcammed there's about a thousand holes that can be poked into that glass such that it wouldn't hold water. Fake ID's and such just for starters. I mean, if a linkshell is hardcore enough about its rules to be going to such lengths to verify its members' ages... I dunno... Trust issues...?
I think it would be enough for most any linkshell to set the rule during the application process that the applicant must be 18+ (or 16+ or whatever the rule is for that particular group). If an angry parent comes along than the way I see it the linkshell community can't be held liable if they falsified their information. Just ban them from the group going forward if it's an issue.
Also I'm not sure I would want anyone knowing my RL name and address though, and that info is usually contained on most ID's. Maybe it's just me...
