I heavilly suggest taking a look at the Linkshells tab for Gilgamesh organizations that might interest you, of particular importance is the COOalition linkshell.

it serves as an OOC coordination tool to get people together and help them find RP.
Aside from that, feel free to explore! as a WoW survivor it took me a while to acclimate to 1.0's lore and mechanics, and with 2.0 we have plenty of information up on the wiki.
