I hear you about having bad luck with games/communities moving on. I've been sorta floating in the same state for the last year or so. I'd love to hear more about the characters you've played in other games though, or what ideas you're considering for characters in FFXIV. I'm also pretty new and just starting to get into both the game and the lore/roleplay, so if you feel like chatting with someone of the same experience level give me a shout!  This community has been really great to me so far, and I hope that you find it to be the same.
