People play games for different reasons; we all hope to achieve different things, and we find different activities fun. Unfortunately, some people think their way is the only way.
Just as some people might make fun of roleplayers, some members of our community are also guilty of belittling other playstyles. How many times have you seen someone call another a "no-life"? Those same people often look at the people who rush to 50, or who rush to achieve server firsts, with disdain ("Slow down and enjoy the damn game," they often say, or "Stop trying so hard, it's a game, not a contest").
All of that is basically people wanting others to play the game in the exact same way that they themselves do. If you're not doing it my way, you're doing it WRONG. It is true that roleplayers seem to receive the most harassment of that sort, but we are not the only ones being "picked on" - and some members of our community are inflicting that same harassment upon others.
My advice: just ignore them. They're not people you'd want to play with, anyways. No sense in replying to them at all, unless you're craving an argument.
