I hope you've had the chance to meet plenty of interesting people on Gilgamesh already, Thaliak knows theres a lot to see and do out there but hopefully you've been able to lurk around and see a few people if nothing else. This RP Handbook provided by Eva is an amazing source of knowledge on a variety of styles and situations. Maybe you'd like to see a different way of approaching a scenario, or maybe you'd like to hear about some Eorzea specific mechanics that you might not be sure how to incorporate into your character, This is a great place to start.
If you'd like to know a bit more about the community I highly suggest jumping into the forums like you mentioned, or taking a look at the linkshell hall and messaging a few people to ask them more about ther groups after reading the introduction posts.
I do have one suggestion for a linkshell on Gilgamesh, an OOC hub for roleplayers to connect named "Coalition"
