Nice to see some people taking up FFXIV on steam, I wish there was a way to tie in the existing game officially, but I launch mine through steam. If you'd like an invite to the RPC Steam group [some occasional games of CIV and TF2,] feel free to send me a message at my name "Olofantur" and i'll get you invited.
So what other MMO's have you played? I started in UO, but I was too young to really enjoy it or understand it [woo kid gaming!] but by the time EQ came around I was ready for it and on my way. You'll find plenty of veterans of both the RP community and the MMO community here. Anywho~ i've got a few links i'd like to share.

"Coalition" is an OOC hub for roleplayers from across Gilgamesh to meet each other, get to know each other.

Hopefully that give you an idea of whats out there waiting for you, theres a lot more, but twelve knows I can drone on if given the chance.
