Lyn walked with her hand in hand into the small village, the first one to realize was a small male, this must be the one she was talking about. A guardian in training, his rapid fire questions made Lyn smile, but as he was about to answer all of the boys questions in the same rapid fire nature Kiht spoke up a bit loudly that stopped him before he could start. He watched the kid's ears drop and his tail droop and genuinely felt bad for him. So as he passed the boy after he stepped out of their way he reached over and ruffled his hair playfully. With that they continued and met their next "greeters" so to speak. Two females, one older and one younger. The older one looked kind, and Lyn couldn't help but try and hold back (failing horribly mind you) a small laugh at the younger ones attempt at trying to look tough. He just wanted to run over and hug her till she begged for mercy. Yet again Kiht spoke, this time her tone told Lyn she was either really nervous OR simply frustrated with all the people standing in their way.Â
It was now Lyn noticed that moon keepers of all different shapes and sizes began to come out of the wood work so to speak. As if word had already gotten around, that's when Lyn's nose picked up the oldest and strongest scent of all of them. Kiht had told him ahead of time that the Matriarch was the oldest and wisest of them all. Lyn honestly had no idea what to expect though, but as Kiht stopped so did he. She gave him a small affectionate squeeze of reassurance. He flet his nerves calm as he took a deep breath, taking his spear and putting the butt of it into the ground next to to him freeing up his right hand. He had decided a long time ago that if this day ever came he would face it with the same courage and vigor that his father faced the Ixili. No looking back, no backing down. A memory flashed before his eyes of the image of his adopted lalafell father sitting in his chair with a pint in his hand.
"Face all your obstacles with your head held high and a pride the likes of which can never go away. Because if even if you fail they will say that you failed showing nothing but your best."Â
With that Lyn's posture straightened up, his eyes looking forward, searching for that strong and un familiar scent of an elderly Miqote female. He said the rule over and over in his head that Kiht had told him. "Don't speak to the matriarch until she speaks to you." Now would not be a time to mess this up, he may not live through the reprisals from kiht after all.... heh
