Askier can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the only reason why he's set to have the good guys ultimately win is because the scenario of the bad guys ultimately winning is impossible to actually RP out: it would mean that Ul'dah was successfully taken and destroyed by the main villain.
Something like that would clash heavily with the perspective of any RPer not participating in the event.
That's exactly why I went with the good guys win Tiergan. =D It was the same way when Askier went to set off the bomb. He had to be stopped cause Ul'dah was still going to be around in game afterwards lol.
