Wow... I guess I have bad luck. I tele between cities and try to find RP every 20-30 mins and have even sat in Limsa's inn for hours without sight of RP.
In fact I haven't seen anyone RPing since the beginning of P3 CBT.

It's weird that others keep seeing it and yet I haven't.. I must be terribly unlucky. S:

For Balmung anyway, it depends heavily on the time you're on and where. Since the major hubs are heavily populated, at least in my experience, RPers tend to prefer the out-of-the-way cities and outposts, so we don't have to put up with the muggles (non-Rpers) cluttering up the chat channels.

The others who have suggested finding OOC LFRP Linkshells hit the nail on the head. Even if you vastly prefer walk-up and spontaneous RP, often finding it winds down to luck, and if luck is in short supply a particular night, LFRP Linkshells can be a life-saver.

On Gilga private chat only rp is highly discouraged as the main way to rp. While we have our fair share of ic channels these are more for rp while leveling. We are attracting enough rpers to draw in groups who never met icly or oocly. Clique rp is also frowned upon.

If you ever see Amaare just walking around approach him he will talk to anyone!

Yeah, rule nº1 of Gilgamesh: Rock is the leader. Nobody knows why, but he just is.

I'm on Balmung, and I 'occasionally' see some RP in the major cities. Most I've seen in open world have been in small places like Bentbranch Meadows. From my experience, most of the RP I've had has been through my ls/fc. And from time-to-time a little forced.

Sorry to say it does seem a little clique-y. If you're ever in need of RP, send me a message! ^^ I'm always looking for some, because I only have two good friends that I actually ever roleplay with (They're non-FC members, so that's saying something.) -

I also have S'demyx created on Gilgamesh from the times of Beta (only level 1). Might have to go on there and see what happens.

I don't know about Gilgamesh, but I've seen people actively RPing in the Lominsa tavern. I even thought about jumping in if it weren't for my character's mid-job crisis of rediscovering his long lost love for shiny armor and battle axes (went almost all out tank due to lack of tanks on server).

These threads are just.. bad for everyone.

What everyone needs to realize is this game is less than a month old. Everyone, even RPers, is so focused on PLAYING the game. They need to progress to a point where they're comfortable slowing down and RPing more, so that sporadic RP is kind of hard to come by sometimes.

It is out there. On Balmung, for sure, as I've seen it, and on Gilgamesh I'm sure it is too. Everyone's just very preoccupied with actually playing the game right now.

Please, join an Intermission LS if you haven't already. Look over the RPLSs in the Linkshell section. There are at least three of the Intermission pearls now, due to the massive amount of RPers on Balmung. And there's tons of people that choose not to be in Intermission. We're all over, there's just a lot going on!

I Rp when I can but you have to take into account a few things:

1)  RP does not always happen where you are.  Perhaps get an invite to intermission and ask for any RP in your area
2) game is not even a month old.  People are STILL trying to clear basic content.

People need to remember that this is a game as well.  We are people and some of us do want progress as well as RP.  We're not just going to stand around and talk from when we log in until we log out like timed NPCs.  We are people on the other side of the screen with interests, goals and plans.

Aysun and Nel Celestine both said it well. The game is still fresh. People are still scrambling to level and flesh out their characters, especially after all the server errors the game experienced at launch. RP is around if you know where to look, but for a while longer it's going be on the backburner for a lot of people who want to level more first. Now's not really the time to be judging RP activity on any server.

Both servers have a lot of role-play, though the quality varies. Balmung tends to take itself more seriously whilst a lot of the role-play on Gilgamesh is tied to what is essentially just a giant ERP circle passed off as 'tasteful entertainment'. There's exceptions, of course - so you'll likely find RP wherever you choose to settle.

Please do not turn this into a recruitment thread. Legitimate reasons for the OP's lack of RP have been given. This isn't something a server transfer will fix. Both servers are in the same state.

Alright guys, let's not turn this into another infamous server vs server thread please. Recent comments make it seem like it's heading in a bad direction Sad

We shouldn't say things like this, either. While I have not RP'd on Gilgamesh, I'm sure that people take their RP seriously there too, even if it doesn't suit your tastes..
