I'm not calling any names, or pointing fingers. But from my experience, we are not allowed to name drop or do anything like that. I can't make a post, helpful and friendly as it may be, to inform people of said trolls and where they hang out. Moderators believe helping people in that manner, is against the rules. Also, if someone flames or trolls on these forums, you can't defend yourself. Self defense is a bannable offense. When i had this issue on Guild Wars 2, i made a post name dropping a certain troll guild and their sightings. I was quickly banned from the RP-enjin forums for it. Despite having the best intentions. We cant do things like that, on third party forums. I know someone, who was threatened by a moderator here, and possibly banned; for self defense against trolls. So ,yeah

I think you're problem is just that you are in the wrong place, I really think the quicksand is an excellent way to meet other RPers IC. 2 months ago, I'd never RPed in my life, but after awkwardly a week or so of awkwardly approaching people in the quicksand, a whole new world opened up for me. I highly suggest you visit, even if it's just to hand out a while and soak in the atmosphere. It's pretty fun to see so many stories happening all around you. Like I said I'd be happy to introduce you to people. Natalie knows a stupid number of people in that place.

If a large amount of people i have reported, didn't hang out there. I would give it another shot. But the last time i walked in there, they name dropped and harassed, until people just...walked away, mid-rp. Trolls love to spread rumors, and do anything in their power to take all your Rp away. I know of at least 5, that frequent the Quicksand daily. As for the previous post, my alt is also a bookish type. Who hangs around ruins, and the ossuary. But i've found those types of characters, are even more difficult, to kind the rp fire; with. Since they are generally not approaching, or giving off an unapproachable feeling. Plus, most of the harassment happened on that character. So i've sat him on the shelf for the last 2 months.

I'm very curious to know if I know the FC or these people. This type of behavior isn't to be expected or tolerated. Off-topic but I have no idea what has gone on with the lala linkshells. I was in once and then it either disbanded or I got kicked @_@

@Mimiko: If you're in the Ul'dah area and your character is more "good" aligned, Kage would be happy to say hi. Or well, if not "good" he doesn't need to know >_> I'm generally on from about 7-1am EST (4pm-10pm PST). Kage usually sits on a railing or generally hangs around in Quicksand in Plunderer's Gladiator gear when I'm free to RP. If I'm about to do anything I try to at least bring his part to a smooth end. Otherwise OOCly I just ((Sorry I have to do CT/help a friend, see you))

As for contacting you. I am online randomly, for long periods of time. From as early as 10am to 4am EST. I'm online right now, but Obsidian and Mcbeef? lol; you two aren't on yet. But i will try to remember to keep checking back. Not being able to add people that are offline, is a pain.

That bugs me too, not being able to send a Friend request while the friend to be is out of game. My play times aren't really consistent due to my work. I've been posting today while at work >.>

If you enjoy RPing at the Grindstone (yes some great people there!) they also have practice matches on Wednesdays. Â Another day for possible RP if you want.

And I am a little surprised by the behavior you described. Â I have never seen anything of the like. Â If they are following you naked, that is NOT RP.

And to the OP, I am always about and welcome random RP! Â I ran into Natalie in the Quicksand as a total walk up encounter, so I -highly- recommend the place.

Yeah, I'm aware of the practice nights. I've been a Grindstone goer for my entire 2 months here. But that is the only successful place, i have encountered it. On Wednesdays, Von mainly is an Overseer. But fights on Saturdays.

I wish more people would rp out of Wolves Den, it's perfect for Von. Also more friendly people in the Drowning Wench, would be nice too.Â It sucks that rp is favored in one specific tavern/guild.
