Worry not, our judges aren't much like that Simon Cowell and the other persons in there in that Talent Show. So even if your performance would be more horrible than buggy 60's special effects, we will be fair! (atleast we try to be!....I've been corrected that despite even if the Judges would be cruel, they hold no power to say who wins, the Audience, meaning -you- do!

The bar has been lowered! is now over for another fortnight!Â The talent competition had some... interesting entries.Â Some of us will forever see a Lalafell wearing nothing but three strategically placed seashells every time we close our eyes, for the rest of our suns...

But more on that in a moment... where was I?Â Oh... yeah.Â The bar!Â As with all the prior openings, it was a fun time for us in Jackal & Hide, and we hope it was just as enjoyable for those who turned up, whether for the first time of as old hands.Â And as ever, we'd like to take a moment to offer many thanks to all who turned up and made it what it was.Â It just wouldn't be fun without you folks! Heart

Drinks were sold, Inarah's pies and cake were consumed, and laughs (we think that's what the tears were) were had from the aforementioned scarring talent show!Â Congratulations to Devin and Yoral who both share the top spot with a joint number of votes, and a very well done to Solis and his acrobatics that netted him the second-place spot!Â It was good to see that Eorzea does indeed, have some form of talent out there.

Screenshots incoming!Â However, as I'm on my laptop this weekend, all screenshots come from the wonderful Inarah, so a big thank you to her as ever and, of course, all the Jackals for their time, dedication, and RP ability! Heart

The Sunny Seaside Bar 4: Bring Fourth the Bards

Goooood evening goodevening goodevening goodevening goodevening! Â Yes, it's that time of the fortnight again folks, where we reveal to you which mystical magical attractions are to be held at the Sunny Seaside Bar 4!

This week, in a break from tradition and in no way related to last week, the entertainment is provided by none other than... you. Â All of you, in fact (If you're willing). Â We're seeking storytellers. Â Orators for the ages. Â Bards with the ability to shape words of such power and grace so as to whisk their audience away to far-flung lands, captivate them with chronicles of great adventures, daring-do and feats of such bravery to inspire the listener to take up the sword and fight! Â Fight for all they hold dear! Â Tales to titillate, stories of illicit l'amour under the loving eyes of Menphina, of love so strong it shines a light to rival that of Azeyma's sun. Â Stories to shed tears of laughter over misadventures and mockery.Â We'll even stretch to allowing budding songstresses to serenade us, should there be any willing.

It's a story night, in short!

Come along in your finest formal beachwear, sup from the most marvelous cocktails, and relax in the atmosphere that only the beautiful Hidden Falls can provide!

As with prior bar nights, we'll be opening ourselves up for business at the 19th bell, with storytelling beginning at... roughly, the 20th.Â Give or take.Â The course of true love never did run smooth, and we do so love you all*, so allow some leeway!

We hope to see (and hear) you all there!

*We love you so much that Inarah and Kilid will be delaying their honeymoon by a full day to see that the bar opens!Â Such is their dedication to you all.Â Tales that make the pair giggle will be most appreciated.

As ever folks, we'll be present at the bar from 6:30-ish onwards, with an official opening at 7pm GMT, and the main attraction beginning at 8!Â The usual closing time of 10pm GMT also remains in place, to allow plenty of time to make your way to the other events of the night should you wish.

There'll no prizes this week, beyond the adoration of the crowd and the joy of seeing them hang 'pon your every word, as we're seeking a more relaxed kind of evening for all present.

All are welcome to attend, and storytelling is, of course, not mandatory! Â Everyone present would no doubt appreciate it, however.

Thank you so much for coming! It was great to finally meet you IC after months of only knowing you via your posts. Inarah's already pondering which cake to make for her next Ul'dah visit. Big Grin

And thanks to our other lovely guests last night, and a well done to Riku, Mara, Freya and Yoral for daring to take the stage and tell a tale or sing a song for our patrons. You all made the evening a success and we hope you had an enjoyable time, a chance to meet new people and perhaps even made some new friends.

Line up folks, so we can send you reeling in disbelief this week! Â Hooked your attention yet?Â Are you waiting with baited breath? Great! Â This week we're going to be down by the shore, casting our net for customers and fishing up a storm*!

As ever, stroll on up around the nineteenth bell for a few drinks, and if you're feeling game for a little game, the main event starts at the twentieth! Â Basic rods, bait and stools will be provided for all who are so inclined, and the ever-magical something niceâ„¢ to whosoever claims the largest catch of the night, with bonus prizes to second and third.

That's really all there is to it this week folks, we didn't see any reason to make a big splash, so we're going to be sailing 'pon calm seas all night.

(Pray forgive us for the puns)

* Any bad weather that occurs is in no way down to these jokes, we swear. Â They're bad, but they're not that bad.

It's as simple as it sounds folks, we'll be providing level 1 rods, and basic bait.Â All you all need to do is settle down on the shore, and cast for as long as you're inclined! (sorry) Turn in your biggest catch when you're done, and Inarah'll make a note as to who who caught what.Â If you're there at the end of the night, we'll let you know if you're a winner!Â If you're not, we'll mail you, so there's no need to stick it out all evening.

The biggest three catches take their owner home a prize.

That's it!Â Simple.

As usual, the bar will be open all night, selling drinks to those who just want a slightly more quiet, but still social atmosphere.

And remember folks.Â This time, it's fishing, and that means but one thing...

All your bass are belong to us.

(No apologies for that one.)

Thanks to everyone who came last night and congratulations to Rythiel Rothmoore for winning the fishing contest! He caught the biggest fish by a huge margin with his Ogre Barracuda.

Once again, special thanks to Nailah for helping us serve drinks and her creative recipes. I think Inarah needs to take some mixology lessons from you!

We next open the bar on 2 May at the usual time and we're looking to pay (ICly, not real gil) some singers and performers to provide entertainment for us. We've already had some enquiries from potential performers but please do get in touch with myself or Kilid if you're interested.
