Osric is Jimmy McNulty.

Osric really does strike me as Jimmy McNulty. A fantastic detective, totally dedicated to his job, and constantly in over his head. I can't recommend The Wire enough. It's a fantastic show, and that's not just bias because I live in Baltimore.
