Kieaira once more filled the pot with water and waddled back towards the group, leaving a trail of droplets in the sand. "Can someone put this in the fire please?" She left the pot to the others and  retrieved the basket of veggies from the cart.

"I wish we had some meat or spices ... I don't suppose you know botany?" Her ice blue gaze landed on Lorielle, a hopeful smile on her face. "Else the soup is going to be really bland..."

She sat down on her knees near the fire and began breaking up the vegetables the best she could, snapping a few carrots and some celery in half and throwing them in the pot. "Even a fish would be nice..." She frowned, trying to hide any sort of sad feeling she may have had earlier.

OOCThis is a reference picture that Kieaira and I made so as to clarify where everything is. That way there won't be any confusion when posting about positions and what not. Onward to progress the story!

Lorielle's pointed ears shift, adjusting to the sound of someone approaching.  They settle in the sand beside her, and while her fingers work methodically on her hair, a familiar voice reaches her.  She turns her head slightly, just enough to see past the braid that hung beside her face.  The hair clip still sat between her lips, so she took a moment to free one of her hands to remove it.

"Just until I am needed for something else," she says in a jovial, light-hearted tone.  Just then Kieaira approached, leaving a pot of water near them on the ground.  So she was needed for something else after all.  She quickly placed the hair pin back into the edge of her mouth, flicking her fingers through her hair to finish the braid more hurriedly.  Once it was finished, she twisted the braid, then raised her arms and wrapped the braid around her head.  She grabbed the pin, securing the braid in place, then tentatively moved her hands away.

When the braid stayed in its place, she went about grabbing the pot and placing it upon the fire.  At the mention of botany, she raised her head to meet Kieaira's eyes.

"I do, actually," she said, seemingly having forgotten.  "But I can't say there is much to harvest from this barren place."  She glanced around, seeing nothing but sand and the occasional patch of grass.  She supposed she could dig for roots near the water, but she was uncertain whether or not she trusted the water nearby.  She bit her lip, wondering if there was anything at all she could do.  She was not the culinary type, unfortunately.

As she held the pot on the flame, the flickering light danced upon her features.  Her red cheeks gave an unwordly glow, casting orange up into her contrasting eyes.  She gave a slight shiver, a breeze slithering up her mostly exposed back.  She was grateful for the cold, though.  She would have to retrieve her tunic from the caravan before they all slept.

Tobias was only able to give her a smile to her words, but before he could speak and settle down next to the Elezen, the Miqo'te woman approaches the two. Before the Hyur knew what was asked of Lorielle, she had already begun to pick up the pot and become busy with helping again.

"The Seven are you doing?" Tobias tone rises as he goes to take the pot from the short Elezen girl, "You have done quite enough already. Now. Rest." he says pointedly to Lorielle as illuminated eyes glance between the two women. He notices something off with Kieaira, but he does not press on the matter. The flames seem to dance in the reflection of his eyes as they stand there. His own complexion light against the fire, though hued with the faintest kiss of the sun.

"Oi, what needs ache ya?" Draevyn inquiries as he saunters up to the three
"The Miqo'te wants to find any herbs we can use for the stew." Tobias answers while still trying to gently wrestle the pot away from Lorielle if she had resisted his attempts to begin with.
"Hah, best of luck wit'hat then!" the blue-eyed driver chortles.
"There should be at least something out there."
"Eh, possible. So then, your call, miss Miqo'te. What shall we do?" Draevyn turns to look at Kieaira. Tobias would also do the same if he was still not half-serious and half-playfully fighting with Lorielle over the pot.

Kieaira watched the interaction between Tobias and Lorielle with keen interest. Perhaps some good will come of this trip after all ... at least for someone. She smiled faintly as she finished placing the vegetables into the now boiling water.

"We'll just have to do without." She spoke softly, averting her gaze from Draevyn. "It won't take loooo-aaaawn-gg." Her words interrupted by a sudden yawn that brought the blush back to her cheeks. "Long day.... Heh..." She bit down on her lower lip once more. I wish the moon would come out ... but those clouds look rather dark ... it may even start to rain tonight...

By the time she looked back to the pot, the vegetables were soft, and some of the juices had leaked into the water giving it a bit of flavour, but it was still going to be rather bland.

"Dig in if you're hungry." She said to the others, stepping away from the fire off towards the Chocobos who were munching quietly upon some gyshal greens under the shade of a tree ... not that it was really required anymore. The sun was beginning to set, turning the sky different colours ... but still those heavy clouds rolled in. Rain ... yes ... definitely.

She sat down near the chocobos, her back against the tree and looked out at the ever-changing sky.

Lorielle was still holding the handle of the pot tightly, not to keep Tobias from taking it, but simply because it was her reflex.  Once she realized he was trying to take it, she released it gently.  She didn't want to spill any of the stew, although she would have liked to have been a bit more playful.  Maybe not with something so important as their only food.

She watched Kieaira stare up at the sky, following her gaze for a moment to see what had her so disgruntled.  On top of all the things that had happened to them thus far, it was surely going to rain on them as well.  She bit her lip, hoping the tent would be large enough to shield all of them.

Once Kieaira deemed the stew ready to eat, Lorielle reached around Tobias for one of the pots she had left on the ground.  They would have to dump the soup into their individual pots and drink from it, but that was better than not eating at all.  She passed the pot to Keiaira, setting it down for her to sit and eat with them.  She reached again, passing another to Tobias, repeating this until they all had their own pot or vase with which to hold their soup.

Lorielle looked to Tobias, who was in control of the pot and therefore the pouring of their meal.

Tobias smiles in thanks as Lorielle releases her hold of the pot. Though they did not have precious few seconds to playfully interact with one another over who got to hold what, perhaps more so a pity that neither would know that both would have wished for the same thing.

The Hyur took notice of Kieaira's departure from the group, but perhaps perceived something other than her wanting to just be alone. However, little time could be spared on thoughts of her as the meal began to warm fairly quickly. His hold on it was steady, though suddenly the hunger pang struck again--a bit more audibly this time.

"Ahhh, heh..." he could only manage as his stomach grumbles anxiously for the meal. It did not take much longer before Kieaira announced that it was ready. Tobias stifles a giddy sound with an anticipation of hunger that betrays his usual calm demeanor.

Tobias' eyes meet with Lorielle's after she had placed out all the 'kitchen ware'. Four bowls, a jug, and and a vase. It was better than nothing at all indeed. However, he does manage to chip in at least one lighthearted joke. As corny as it was, "Just so you know, I would have stopped you from passing out the dishes too. I just had my hands a bit...preoccupied." a faint smile is given before he pours the stew into each container.

Every container holds a fairly even amount as Tobias finishes. He places the pot down next to the camp fire, enough left over for at least three more fills. The dark-haired Hyur looks over again to Lorielle, offering another quiet smile before he hands her one of the bowls. "Back to resting and eating for you now," his tone both soothing and deep, "and thank you. For earlier."

He looks back over to the Miqo'te who had left, a slight frown now over his features though it dissipates quickly. "I hope we can find another chance to," his words trail with darkend eyes somewhat hidden behind raven locks as he ends his sentence with a genial upward curl of his lips. "Excuse me, will you?" Tobias takes two bowls, one in each hand and moves away from the campfire.

"Gil for your thoughts?" the Hyur asks in a casual whisper with an offering of a meal. Hopefully his coming into view of Kieaira will not startle her too much.

OOC:Tobias and I did a bit of RP the other night in-game that fits in with this Roleplay, so I'm adding it in here, just an overview, not word for word
[Image: tumblr_inline_muoxbe7rEz1s3i7wp.png]
Kieaira looked up, she didn't seem startled or shocked in any way. Perhaps she was not lost so deep in thought as one might have though, her ears twitching as she heard the male approach. "Hmm?" She looked to his hands, holding two jugs of the stew she had made ... if you could even call it that.

She held her hands out to take it from him with a nod of thanks. The two began to chat, Kieaira even opened up a little, speaking of her home … something she was not very open about, but she found it easy to talk to this man. As the conversation continued she found herself blushing a lot … especially as her friendly joke turned slightly more PG-13.

It started off simple enough. She had offered him some of her leftover water, to wash the bland taste of the stew from his mouth, andcautiously he accepted. She joked it was a secret potion that would turn him into a Lalafell. A witch, she had called herself but he was quick to protest … instead he turned the joke on her.

Surely, the kiss of a lovely ivory haired Miqo’te with sparkling blue eyes, would cure him. Kieaira hid her face in her hands as it turned a bright red, causing her to squeak in embarrassment. A kiss?! Did all men think such thoughts? Why would he want to kiss me?! Her thoughts only encouraging the redness of her face.

Tobias merely laughed it off, as she let out a long breath she was holding in. Oh thank the Twelve he's not serious ... merely teasing me. A frown came to her lips. Why do they always tease me? With a huff, she waved him off. "Best get back ... Don't want to worry Lorielle ... especially since you are still healing."

During the conversation she had managed to choke down about half of the water and soggy vegetables, she was rather disappointed, but it would at least keep her going for the night, and hopefully it wouldn't take them long to hit Drybone tomorrow.

Kieaira sighed and looked up at Tobias, preparing to say something else ... but was interrupted as Draevn sauntered over. "Oi, leave the poor lass alone."

Lorielle had long finished her helping of stew.  Whether or not it was dull, Lorielle loved vegetables.  She could have eaten most of the ingredients raw and would have been just as happy still.  She leaned back, basking beneath the cool breeze, wishing the moon would come out for just a moment at least.  There was no such glimmer of hope.  It was far too cloudy, as the rain prepared itself to fall down upon the unfortunate band of travelers.

The Elezen sat up again with a small sigh, looking around to see how everyone was fairing.  Tobias had been gone for quite a while now, and upon gazing across the horizon, she saw him sitting alongside Kieaira.  One of her dark brows perked upon her head, turquoise eyes gleaming in the night.  Something inside of her caught itself, causing her to clear her throat a bit and look back at the fire.

Was she bothered?  She did not know what had so suddenly come over her.  She couldn't really put her finger on what might have disturbed her.  Was she jealous?  She cocked her head in thought, her eyes narrowing softly.  No, not quite jealousy.  Lorielle had never really felt the pull of envy, but she was certain this was not the same feeling.

Whatever it was, she brushed it off, helping herself to another serving of the soup.  No one else had been gathered around it, and she assumed that if she did ask anyone if they would mind, they would deny it.  She served herself from the pot into her makeshift bowl, eating it almost as soon as she finished pouring it.  She had not realized just how hungry she was.  It was a shame she did not bring any bread with her, as it would go along well with the...vegetable water.

She wanted to go and thank Kieaira for the meal.  But then she would be interrupting whatever conversation she and Tobias were having.  Did she want to interrupt them?  Remind them of her presence?  Lorielle shook her head, her nose cringing and crinkling between her eyes.  No, she didn't want those things.  Why was she trying to convince herself that she should be jealous?  Silly woman things.

Her attention went back to finding something to do.  She assigned herself the task of poking at the fire, tending to it with nurturing care.  She grabbed a stick and began shuffling the firewood around, moving some pieces closer and rekindling the flame.  They would need to get more if they were going to keep the fire burning much longer.

Without a word, the Elezen got to her feet.  She moved almost noiselessly to the caravan, finding her folded tunic where she had left it.  She tossed it over her arm, carrying it in the crook of it as she hopped from the caravan and made her way to a nearby tree.  She searched the ground for any fallen branches, finding very few worth keeping.

Looking up into the leaves, she wrapped the end sleeves of her tunic around her hand.  She tossed the tunic up and over a thick, low branch, grabbing the other sleeve once it had fallen.  She then hoisted herself up, using her feet to steady herself against the trunk as she climbed her way up to sit on the branch.  From here she picked off thicker branches, holding them in her tunic.

As he rummaged through the bag for a few moments longer. The only things retrieved from it in the end was the green-ish jacket with a single Garlean insignia on the back. After placing his bag and the rest of it's contents back onto the cart, a frown took place on his face at the sight of the only person still sitting in the near vicinity was the driver who he didn't even know the name of due to lack of attention.

The sand rising up around Clavier as he took a seat against the cart rather then directly seated at the warm fire. The green irises of his eyes shifting to look from Tobias and Kieara to Lorielle moving to collect more firewood.

Tobias had already consumed half of his soup by the time he got to Kieaira. He was...voracious...when it came to food sometimes. It was indeed fortunate he had hastily ate before arriving where the Miqo'te woman was as their conversation took over his attention and thoughts entirely. It was quite a pleasant surprise for the Midlander with jet-black hair. Perhaps pleasant for her as well.

Teasing the poor woman was not Tobias' intent--from the start. Despite the somewhat rocky beginning they had while on the caravan, their conversation was almost second-hand. More interestingly, when they began to joke back and forth it felt...natural. At ease. Of course, it was not meant to last more than a few memorable seconds.

"Aye, best I not make the Lady worry anymore than she already has. Though, she seems to have made sure that it was mended completely. But yes," his head turns to look over to where he last saw Lorielle, but instead his brows stitch slightly together as she was no longer there, "best get back then." he stands from where he was sitting next to Kieaira, "Good night." the usual wisp of his smile being the last interaction Tobias offers her before Draevyn appears and cuts off whatever Kieaira had wanted to say.

"Oi, leave the poor lass alone."
   "I was merely saying greetings."
   "Uh-huh, 'course you were!"
"And I am sure you will be much better company." Tobias rolls his eyes teasingly as he comments.
"O'Course I will!" Draevyn says with a flash of his pearly whites. Tobias merely rolls his eyes again amused and gives a casual wave over his shoulder in farewell from the two as he makes his way with still some soup left in his bowl.

By the time he reaches the campfire, what left of the contents in his bowl had vanished. He begins to collect any used make-shift containers and puts them in a pile. After he cleans up any tiny bit of mess that was left from the crew, he eyes the remaining extra 'soup' and decidedly fills up his container for another serving. While he polishes off another bowl, however, he keeps eyes scanned and his senses alert as if looking for something. Or someone.

It did not take very long for Tobias to finish off his second serving and just as he did, he notices the fire had become less lively. So naturally, he prepares to go find more wood and fuel for the open fire-pit. He takes one last glance around the area, but still could not catch a view of what he sought before he begins his search.

Draevyn smiled down at Kieaira, believing he had saved her from whatever onslaught of flirting Tobias had done to cause her face to flush with redness. He gave her a small wink, and folded his hands back behind his head as he looked up at the clouds. "Should get things set up for bed ... that rain will be here soon." He nodded, turning off to head back towards the cart.

Kieaira let out a small sigh and stood up, raising her arms over her head as she stretched, just as the first droplet of water fell onto her forehead. With a sense of urgency she walked quickly back to the others, passing by Draevyn on the way, a large tarp and some rope in hand, presumably to hang up over the chocobos.

"Where are the sleeping bags?" She asked, looking around. "We can put at least two in the back of the cart since it's covered.... and everyone else can use the tent ... then we won't be crowded."

She didn't wait for a response before setting to work. Pushing the large crates to create a sort of barrier in the back of the cart, just as the wind began to pick up, sending a chill down her spine. "Hurry up!" She cried but her words were lost as a loud crash of thunder shook the land. Kieaira winced, her ears flat against her head, and a look of fear on her face.

As the first thunder struck through Thanalan. Several small Eft's started to come from the shadows that the night had casted on the rocks and ground, most likely frightened by the sound of the thunder as they paid no attention to the occupants of the camp and merely ran through it. Clavier gripped onto the side of the cart to haul himself onto his feet, only a short gaze rested on Kieara within the cart moving the boxes into a sort of barrier against the heavy winds that the thunder brought along. With only a few steps he found himself in the back of the cart to assist Kieara with moving any crates still out of place into their most effective positions as a barrier.

"Just a storm. It can't hurt you."

Without any further words being given he stepped back down from the cart and stood down at the ladder, even though he had tried to give her some peace of mind he found himself reaching for the hilt of the shortsword. But a scared animal sure can. Clavier thought to himself as another small eft bumped into the cart before scurrying off as the sky and surrounding Thanalan was lit up by a single lightning that stretched down towards the ground.

Lorielle had just finished her gathering when the wind picked up.  She could not get a good look at the state of the sky from inside of the tree.  She tied the sleeves of her tunic together, making a makeshift bag full of large branches.  She dropped the package below her, then hopped from the tree.  She landed hard, balancing herself by pivoting weight onto the palms of her hands.

When she sat up, a small eft had just whipped passed her and squirmed away.  She gasped, hopping back quickly to watch it disappear over a rock.  She turned her head, seeing the clouds churn above, lightning occasionally streaking through them.  The firewood would not be needed after all.

She grabbed the bag, running back to the camp where Tobias had been sitting.  She dropped the tunic onto the ground, the wood audibly bumping around inside.  She was going to say something to him, but rumbling thunder cut her short as the wind blew into her face like tiny needles.  With that gust the fire was out, and with it, any warmth.  Lorielle was beginning to regret using her tunic as a bag, but she didn't like the idea of sleeping in splinters.

Seeing Kieaira pushing things around in the caravan, Lorielle ran to her.  She grabbed the side of the cart, picking herself up and over without disturbing the barrier she had made.  She scooped up the five sleeping bags she had found before, handing one to Kieaira and one to Clavier.  She knew not where they were sleeping, but knew Kieaira would need her own sleeping bag.  She seriously doubted she would be comfortable enough to share with anyone.

She hopped back out, landing with a little less grace than usual.  Carrying the remaining three sleeping bags back, she went into the tent.  She set the three down, rolling them out and zipping them open.  Once that was finished, she popped back out to see what everyone was doing, to be greeted by hurling wind scattering her hair again.

"The Sevens it can't, Boyo!" Draevyn retorts to Clavier's commentabout the storm. Though if one had trained ears, perhaps only a Miqo'te would have been able to hear the driver's approaching footsteps that were hidden by the winds that begin to wail, "Oschon no doubt pesterin' Llymlaen to another fruitless challenge! Better here though than Limsa, I say!" Draevyn shields his eyes from a gust of wind that briefly tides against the cart before he continues to look around for more crates to stack up inside the caravan, "Still, doesn't bode well that Rhalgr wants in on this. What with the thunder and lightnin' and all."

Meanwhile, Tobias had already begun to prepare for the oncoming gale. He springs back to his feet after Lorielle left to Kieaira. Thanalan was no stranger to the winds and rain, but something felt...off. Ominous even. That or the Hyur was being particularly cautious. 'Keeps the blade out from between your shoulders' as he was known to say. Time for more tasks, the first task to make sure everything was secure.

Maybe the Hyur planned it, maybe it was dumb luck, maybe it was a coincidence. Regardless, Lorielle came into the tent with the Hyur already inside, crouched and working in a corner. His back may have been turned to her, but the moment she entered, the shuffling about comes to a stop. His head turns enough only to reveal a bit of the bangs that hung wistfully over his right eye. Though, once Tobias notices who came in, his body turns only a little more so that he may offer a welcoming smile to the Elezen inside of the tent.

However, if the two had any interaction after or if they simply set back to work in silence was unbeknownst to any save for the two. Right after Lorielle pops out of the tent, Tobias follows suit and shields the side of his face to at least block any bits of rock, weed, dirt, or any other bits of earth that would try to assail him. A quick glance cuts over to the Elezen woman before he begins to jog in haste towards the caravan where Clavier, Draevyn, and Kieaira are.
