Well, I mean... you can do that now, sure, but when they add chocobo breeding and all of our company chocobos are revealed to be males and you have to go running into the Chocobo Forest for a female to breed with, you're going to look kind of silly then.

Except the one early on in the Gridania storyline, where you have to go chasing after someone who stole her egg... and they did say "at the moment", so it may be that some females were exported previously, maybe prior to the Calamity.

True and also there would be females as blackmarkets happen as do random breeding from said blackmarket chocobo. The lore only states that Ishgard only exports males. As long as you did not IC buy your chocobo from a licensed Ishgardian dealer, then your girl bird doesn't violate lore.
