[Sincerely hoping that I'm doing this right...because the last time I've done anything on a forum has gotta be five years ago.]
So yeah, I gotta admit that I've been lurking around on the forums for a good while now and never really worked up the nerve to make myself known...mostly thanks to ye olde internet anxiety. Well, same goes for ingame stuff, that mostly involved me either looking like a total creep outside the Quicksand or just running away in a fit of internal screaming at people sending tells, ahahaha~
-MMORPG background
Well, there's nothing to write home about here. I tried out the whole free week thinger in WoW and got bored of it rather quickly and besides that, the only MMO I've played for longer than a month before was a sort of indie thinger. Buuut that one's just a can of worms begging to stay closed.
-RP experience
All in all, I've been at it for about seven years now. I've spent most of it in deviantArt chats and with a couple pals on Skype. There was a brief time where I gave the forum variant a shot, but yeah, that was a while ago. Much as I did RP in that one MMO a while ago, I feel extremely rusty when it comes to that. Or maybe I still need to get a feel for wireless keyboards.
-Character ideas/info
Gotta admit that I got a bad habit of creating far too many characters out of random inspiration bursts. At the moment though, I only got two that are actually fleshed out enough that I'd feel confident in writing them:
Badr Thajiri: A keeper Miquo'te who pretty much sacrificed her youth and personal relationships to pursue her studies of arcanima - and later summoning. As a researcher and a mage she's rather accomplished, but socially she tends to come across as overly blunt and invasive. Badr loves a good debate and what she considers a fruitful exchange, but has a poor understanding of boundaries. She's got a rather surly attitude when it comes to Gridania and will not leave out an opportunity to point out that she's only setting foot into the woods to study the slyphs.
Logan Sterling/Agrippa Otho: Ex-centurio of the garlean army and now a wanted deserter. She's fled her home in a rather bloody fashion after the issues within her home hit her far too close to home. Much as she's determined to pursue her ideals in a way that doesn't involve subjugating other peoples, she finds it hard to fit in with the eorzeans. Thinking she'll be accused of being a spy right away, she hides her third eye with unmatched paranoia and rarely speaks up , out of worry that her accent might just be too thick to pass as just some random midlander. The sound of gunfire or anything resembling it is guaranteed to make her break out in cold sweat.
-What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy?
Usually, I'm more on the heavy side, because Skype and the like allow me to take my time to write large para posts, but I still gotta see what works best for me in-game.
-Anything from real life you'€™re comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc)
Well, there isn't really anything spectacular to tell. Just an art student living in Germany who gets miffed about timezones a lot here.
So yeah, it's the GMT +1 life over here, which means I might not be online during the big rush hours. Most of the time, I'll be online during the weekends, seeing how I got uni from Tuesday to Friday.
Well, that's all before I just smoosh everyone with this wall of text. Most of the time, I'm definitely open for IC stuff, long as there's no red smiley of busy-ness. Definitely looking forward to my time here~ 'u'/
