Because it seems that come 2.5 it'll be finishing this line.

I don't think in 3.0 they will continue this.

Or they might but do it casually. While focusing on the main scenario and what its about is the main point of the expansion, its always good to have quests that allow you to check up and keep tabs on the current situation of the other city states.

I have total faith in SE's writing. It has shown consistent improvement since 2.1 onwards, and when they address topics that overlap RL scenarios, they have demonstrated a solid knowledge of its general causes/processes.

Looks like there's going to be a huge change for Ul'dah come 3.0. INTERESTING. I love when the Devs through huge life changing decisions into the storyline and mess with the status quo, because it forces our own characters to react. One thing I love about FFXIV, unlike other MMOs, they are willing to move the storyline along quickly and CHANGE EVERYTHING.

My character lives in Ul'dah, it'll be interesting to see what happens.

Yoshi-P mentioned a new "calamity" at fanfest bringing in 3.0 from what I remember of the opening and panels. Perhaps this is part of it?

They have mentioned that changes to the ages (especially the recent ones) have been political in nature as well. This sounds like something that could be it too?

I do not expect the status quo to change. That would call for a Cataclysm-level of story altering in Ul'dah dialogue and quests and I just don't see that happening. The tease is working as intended, but I'm calling their bluff.

I think they will mess with the status quo. Much like 1.0 went to 2.0 I think something similar will go 2.0->3.0

Not that big with much of the direction but I think there will be very significant changes.

Also, I forgot to mention that I guess the last few parts of dialogue from the MSQ regarding a certain dead thing in Mor Dhona will be part of what's going on in 3.0 but I think the whole thing in Ul'dah will be one of the reasons we get quests dealing with the Sil line and the 80 sins.

We don't know who Teledji was talking to, and we know he instructed trade routes to be blocked specifically to stymie Lolorito. He's making a powerplay, and his asking for Nanamo to be a "good little Sultana" indicates he needs her to either 1) not do anything, or 2) do exactly what she's doing. If Teledji is a genius-mastermind sort, he might have already figured out that Nanamo would see this as the Greater Good and he might be putting himself into position to seize the empty throne/presidency/whatever. That's what I'm considering our "Bad End" scenario, where Nanamo's sacrifice ends up being for nothing.
