Hey, so I RP a Bard IC, and I'm looking for gil commissions to write songs and limericks for people's characters.Â

Basically, I'll write songs to tell your characters story and sing them in adventurers guilds IC! We can RP out your character actually commissioning it and junk.

I'm also going to write limericks, say, you want to make fun of a character yours doesn't particularly like IC, and my bard will recite those as well to the masses or to the character themselves. Limericks can be for those that your character does like IC, but typically limericks are humourous and joking anyway, and can sometimes come across offensive so keep this in mind. )

Depending on the length of the song, it will be between 100-175k.

And, every limerick will be 25k each.Â

Message me here to set up a time to IC request these, and we can totally do that!

If you have questions, feel free to ask as well!

Edit:

For all requests about other characters, please ask the person OOC if it's okay to do this before asking me to. I don't want to start trouble with people ooc, nor would I want to hurt anyone's feelings. This is meant to be positive (even if IC, characters don't get along and your character ICly wants to fuck around with them, but if it makes the RPer uncomfortable, then that would not be a positive outcome for this and I will not commission you.)

Who says otherwise? Frankly, I've been curious to find and maybe join coalition of bards for this very sort of thing. There's gil to be made, hearts to set pounding, voices to raise and eyelids to set a-fluttering.

I hear you, mate - I've wished for the same thing. I kind of miss LOTRO for that, since not only could you wield an instrument, but actually play music with it, too. I think even Rift has Emote-instruments that can be acquired, which TOR definitely did. In fact, TOR even has an acquirable /sing emote that has the toon cavorting, rock n' roll style, with a microphone.

If anyone from Square-Enix is listening, please give bards something more musical to wield than that mutant atrocity of a bow-harp!

But not to derail your thread too much - you wouldn't happen to know of any Bardic coalitions that could bring all the lyric-slingers together, would you, for hiring out both IC and for OOC services? I know of a couple of groups that do plays and such, and the occasional music events, but nothing more than that.

There was a Bardic LS, but the leader killed it when it got quiet. So there are a few whould would partake of Bardical hugs.

Well, I would not be opposed to creating my own LS/RP group that was around a Bardic type college deal, like one that was made specifically to bring the art back and teach those willing to learn.Â

Either that or it'd be more like a club or sorts, like starting it out with a small group of individual's who want to learn, so they get together to create a place where they can despite how little resources they have. Y'dig?

But yeah, I can definitely start a RP group/LS on Balmung specifically for Bards where they can teach, learn and get commissioned work. Hell if we create enough of a stirr with more bardic centric RP, SE might just catch on and start adding in things like emotes and shit for bards and maybe even a musical Limit break (would be cool just sayin') or an off hand weapon that was an instrument, while the main hand was a bow.

I'd say that a linkshell would be a better start. Creating a new guild is a nebulous thing, and we already have extensive numbers of tiny guilds on Balmung.

I know there's even a guild with the tag "<BARD>, but I don't know anything about them; they don't seem to have a website or anything I could find, short of just sending a cold /tell and asking, if they actually do anything with their theme in RP.

Oh I meant through a LS as a makeshift kind of IC guild, not an actual free company guild. It just wouldn't take off with the amount of other FC's on balmung and the like.Â

I think I will make the LS, and possibly an event to find IC bards on balmung so we can all collab something together!
