I probably will end up making a new alt alongside my ladyfriend as she's expressed some interest in making one. And since I only have two characters, I've got slots to spare.

The only reason I play FFXIV is for the Miqo'te. Â So there's little the Au Ra can do to change my mind. Â I am looking forward to the potential drop in Miqo'te populations.

But I might roll and alt once I see them in person and if they have intriguing background and Lore.

It's not a good thing that the fan service race will drop purely because of another fan service race!

I find the Au Ra's sexual dimorphism despicable, and as I've said elsewhere, one shouldn't need an exotic race to make an interesting character. Anyone should be able to make an interesting character with the most basic race/class. If Square Enix had the artistic integrity to make the female Au Ra look similar to the men, maybe I wouldn't think so little of it.

That being said, will 100% back legit Au Ra ninjas. Will /straightface Au Ra being born in Eorzea.

As we have very little lore outside of the distinct possibility that some Au Ra came along for the ride with Yugiri. All I can assume is thatÂ maybe someÂ have been some in hiding inÂ Mor. (Hoods to hide horns and tails hidden.)

While we do not have definite time passed since 2.2, we can assume enough time has passedÂ that Yugiri and the Doman people have gotten acquainted with the lands (hence why they can handle stuff so well in MSQ) so a Au Ra might not be entirely clueless of the world they are in.

Also, the Ninja storyline is not connected to MSQ, so it means travel from the east to here is possible and here to the east, meaning that perhaps they could have been here longer than the start of Heavensward. However... I haven't the slightest if I will do something with one of my characters.

Reasons being:

1) I haven'tÂ clue about the lore. SE could say they are living in the North. (Wouldn't be surprised if their homeland is part of the new zones rather than overseas)
2) If I were to transform one of my characters into one, I would probably name change/fantasia OOCly, and then make an alt by the name of the old one so the character still exists. But since that requires IRL money I would need a SOLID character idea to do that. PVE Main and RP main don't need to really be tied together.

Until we get more lore and information about them, I cannot answer the poll outside of derp... I don't know.

I could do three things but it all hems on whether or not RPing as Kage and playing a Lalafell still be fun or not.

I have fantasias to use.

I do have the character slots but none of them have been leveled past 15 of the three I DO have so...

Hmm... I like Lili too much to want to Race change, I may create an alt to mess around with. But I'm a Lalafell Lover at heart and that's how I'll stay! ^.^

I was planning on giving a Fantasia to an alt. I would have role-played that as the character being transformed by magic. Don't think I will be going that route, though. I will be sticking with my current race. However, I look forward to role-playing with all the new characters that will be Au Ra.

If the lore is interesting then I may change Aris. I've been thinking about it any way (maybe highlander) as, although I enjoy her design and personality, I'm not keen on the Miqo'te lore and I've not really thought much about her background because of that.Â Thankfully as I haven't developed her as much as others have with their characters, and don't know anyone IC, if she was to change it wouldn't make any difference to anyone else! She'll still be the same ole' Aris regardless. Tongue

Otherwise, I'm going to try tanking from a lv.1 Au Ra alt.

I'm sure it doesn't speak good things about me when it comes to RP but I'm willing to jump in fresh with a new lvl1 Au Ra and adjust accordingly. Generally I like to do a lot of research first before I pick a race, but I like them way too much based on what 'may' be true and looks alone and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Part of RP for me is learning as I go. It's ment to be an adventure, and I've been doing it long enough that I feel like I can handle it.

I still have a highlander that I'm pretty fond of, but I can't find myself passing this up.

I wanted to make an entirely new character to play an Au Ra; but I've always had trouble leveling alts in the past because I grow so attached to my main(I also suffer from a "Why farm a bunch a second time when I have everything I want on my main?" mindset). So I'm going to turn Nalin into an Au Ra for a bit, then probably turn him back into a Miqo'te if I start to miss it.

I really love dragons a ton, and the Au Ra is about as close to a playable dragon race as I'm probably going to get in any MMO. Save for Horizons but it's not as pretty as FFXIV! So that's my entire OOC reason for changing Nalin. Dragons and laziness towards alt leveling.

ICly though; he's going to be cursed into the form, as I already established his history and character and don't want to change it or his name. My FC also thought it was amusing that he'd still act like a Miqo'te despite looking like a big dragon human hybrid thing. Thus: Toothless.
