Howdy there everyone, I'm new to the world of FFXIV, I'm loving it so far. I'm a former WoW player and finally wanting to switch to FF and get into RP again. I'd love to know the best place to find RP out and about, and if there are any linkshells that you could recommend as well.

Ah, welcome! Must be an interesting switch. As for good places to find RP; on the short time I've been on Balmung, the main starting Taverns seem to be a good place to start!

It's definitely a big difference, but for the most part all for the better really. Just learning the basic mechanics that are unique to the game but I can definitely see it becoming my new top game.

My advice is to hang out in the Quicksand a day or two to see what its like at verious times. Then just hop in. Most of us who allow it have "Walk ups welcomed" in our notes, the little word bubble under our names when you examine a player. That is meant, people love walk-ups.
