So, is there any place where I can see the full list of Racing Chocobo name options outside of that moment you're actually naming it? I've tried Googling for a written list or screenshots or something, but it keeps trying to replace "racing" with "raising" and all the content is about the actual racing and breeding aspects rather than what I want.

...I just want to be able to plan ahead and have a sort of... bank of names to pull from if/when I start dealing with breeding and such (and to see if some of my name ideas are actually feasible ahead of time instead of getting there and having to fumble for a replacement name). Blush

On the plus side, I found out the coloring of the birds comes from the breeding, it takes about 9 hours for a new racing burd to hatch after breeding, and that all the stats modified by feed don't get carried on to the chick. The latter one is probably the biggest find for me, so I know not to waste MGP on feed and the like until I have a bird I want to go all the way with.

Also, apparently the higher-ranked races have enemies in them and give pretty minor increases to the MGP reward payouts.

... but all I wanted was a list of the name options. So I can see if Lovely Chunk or something can be a name. Sad

Kujah is Hawu's beloved white riding bird and Captain Impulse is totes my OOC racing bird, I couldn't really pick a name so I went with something silly. I love it!

My racing chocobo is named OdyssÃ©e (you'll find me a lot in the Costa R-60!) and Y'lani's in-character riding chocobo is named Y'kaan, in honor of her tribal heritage.

I named my original chocobo in 1.0, Truffles which is also the name of my current GC Chocobo.. Truffles shall always live on! My racing chocobo is Crown Ivory. A bit of an FC Plug. Big Grin

You can rename race chocobos for 2000 gil at the register, and since you pay after you have picked out a name, you can fiddle around as long as you like without wasting untold amounts of pocket change.

Mine started out as Hikari before I changed her name to Pure Melody...Which may or may not have been the closest thing I could get to Cure Melody.

Anyways, Hihimi's personal chocobo (Currently Lavender Purple, hopefully soon to be Snow White) needs a new name. Any suggestions?

I named Hibito's chocobo Gysahl Biscuit.

I don't know yet for Yvelont's. I know a lot of people are RPing their racing chocobo being their companion bird, but Goliath is a destrier, not particularly speedy but quite large and sturdy. So it'll be a brand new bird bred for the races whenever I get around to doing the quest as Yves. Smile

I'd say that we need to organise a racing tournament on the RPC (OOC or IC!) but having to put up with 8 players in every match isn't as fun, even with "dummy racers" who just hold back while the real competitors go for it.
