Right, so there's six aether aspects (it is aether aspect, right? ) or elements, blah, whatever. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

Fire, Ice, Wind, Water, Thunder and Earth

Which one does your character best represent? And bonus question, how does that match to your character's inherent resistances due to their patron deity.

Just for fun. Smile

Like many, Warren's guardian deity is Oschon. As one of the Wanderer's own, he spent most of his youth and upbringing on the roads as part of a nomadic caravan. It wasn't until his mid-twenties when he arrived for good in Ul'dah, departing from the group and striking out as his own man.

Wind, I think, represents Warren's element well. He came and went as he pleased, with no particular direction or care. It matches his resistances as well, though. After having rolled along for so many years, Warren finally set down roots. His years of traveling had finally given him the means to stop traveling - as Oschon's Sign protects its bearer from the Wind, so too has Warren's upbringing given him the strength to resist picking up and moving once more.

Edit: I'm meshing OOC mechanics and IC, just to clarify. Fun thought experiment, though!

ICE! Or that what I think Tongue Delni tends to be cold towards people first. So you need to melt ice around her first Tongue

My characters don't have special abilities or anything of the like, but I guess K'nahli, if anything, would be more likened to fire since she is a nomadic, desert tribal(?) I say this only because you brought up elemental "resistances".

Also her personality could be described as fiery, so bonus points for that selection.

Franz's was previously fire. There's a story behind it, but he isn't aware of it IC.

In an old, old, old plot, I remember working with Gharen and Roen using some earth crystals. Perhaps we'll see that story written in a post one day~

edit: fixed a typo

Eleni would either be Wind or Fire.

Wind because she's free spirited and an adventurer, and Fire because she has a liveliness and passion burning inside her. But Fire kind of works against her too as she hates hot weather and enjoys colder climate.

Her patron deity is Azeyma, The Warden. Of course, that means her strongest resistance is Fire, and weakest to Wind.

In the end, I think Fire wins. The tipping scale is her temper tantrums, which would likely associate to Fire. And then there's her positivity and warmth. So, Fire.

Chachan s a toss-up between Earth and Fire, I think.

Both are heavily used in his trade - smithing. The ores he smelts and then shapes into weapons and armor and such come from the earth, but are made malleable through application of fire.

He's very passionate about his beliefs and his dreams, which also implies fire (though the whimsical nature of his dreams can be very Wind), but he's also resolute and sometimes-stubborn - which is more of an earthy trait. His overall resilience and reliability is very earthy too, though the friendliness and warmth behind that reliability could be fire-ish.

So, ultimately, I think he's more Earth than Fire... or I can just go with the Quasi-Elements, call him "Magma" and move on. Laugh

Berrod's elements are earth and lightning. I tend to make reference to them depending on if he's being defensive or offensive -- and not just in terms of combat! Earth, for when he is guarding his body, or even his emotions; lightning for when he is on the move, or...well, striking.

Laugh Just kidding.

I would say Jancis associates closest to water. While not in practice, she'll refer to life as a flow, life as a river and how it bends and twists, keeps flowing (insert Pocahontas quotes) plus Thaliak, her guardian, is associated with water so it all ties in together.

Hmmm, I honestly think the element Rhea is most comparable with is honestly water, with a close option being wind or even lightning. I don't see her as the truly serene type; Underneath her calm demeanor is a sea of constant worry, her thoughts always shifting and swirling.

I'm in the Ice boat, too.

Despite having nothing to do with Ishgard herself, Qhora's patron is Halone, and has been since before she went off the deep end. They've got some things in common. While Heavensward isn't likely to have a huge effect on her story, Qhora's always had a favorable leaning toward those cranky Elezen, so she'll probably be like a cat with cream to finally get to see the place up close. And as per in-game resistances, she doesn't feel the cold as much while the heat wears on her a bit faster.

Ganale's Element is Earth, has been for as long as he's been a character, which is actually longer than I've been RPing. Even across the six or eight incarnations of him, he's always been Earth-aspected, and when in one of the settings where it gives him actual powers, he smiles when someone comes against him with fire or lightning. In FF, being Earth-aspected saved his life when he came up against a powered-up Titan-egi that hit him with its Earthen Fury (or whatever the SMN version is called).

Chao is Fire, but that's mostly a product of her original setting, where she was from Mars and had the most powerful fire spells in the setting. In FF, her slant toward fire messes up the whole Astral Fire/Umbral Ice thing.

Yuuna doesn't have a specified element, but she had wind and fire magic in her other setting to reflect her hyperactivity and favoring of fast but strong attacks.

Seno doesn't have a set element, which is kind of odd. But his Shinmei has a lot of different element-based attacks in its list.

Ghost and Garon are largely non-elemental. Tahz I haven't come up with one for.

With a name like 'Flickering Ember'? You can bet safely on it being 'fire'. Tongue

For Osric?

It's not ice. He's not cold, or uncaring, or unmoving.
It's not water. He doesn't adapt well, he'd rather change his environment than let his environment change him, and he's not flexible enough.
It's not earth. He's not hard, or stoic, and his faith can be shaken.
It's not wind. He's not free-spirited enough, and he's shackled to the consequences of his life choices.

That leaves fire (the obvious one)... or thunder, which calls into mind roiling thunderclouds, sudden and swift bolts of lightning, a presence that's there off in the distance, waiting to strike, and when it does it's loud and hard to miss, and the whole elemental is mythologically associated with judgment and justice and a little dash of chaos.
