So! With the many great ideas/things that came out of the Summit, I took it upon myself to take on the idea of the Travelling Training Event. So far, I think the consensus was to do it weekly, and travel to various FC houses and locations to promote RP at varying houses and to give a chance for people to meet new groups and members a chance to spar or receive instruction on a certain discipline! My first thoughts are to have people who can serve as instructors each week maybe to teach either the lance, sword, or some type of magic. We can also have people there to serve as sparring partners to aid along new fighters or even those new to combat RP!Â
The Waystone:
One of the big things I personally took away from the Summit was we have a lot of people looking for work, so instead of having Berry handle all the pieces, I would love to outsource a lot of this to other groups so we can all make it a thing!
When:Â Â Friday, May 29th @ 9:00pm! EST
What: A Traveling Training event for the masters and novices to meet up and learn new skills while mingling with others and so on! On top of supervised sparring sessions, there will be two IC classes lead by instructors with knowledge of their fighting style and weapon set!
Where: Ward 8, Plot 12 of the Goblet. "The Tonberry Hunting Lodge"
Who: While the Wandering Tonberry is hosting this round, all are invited! It is my hope to see a wide array of fighters, RPers and FCs!
Why: Because... Training RP is tons of fun!
What We have:
- Two Instructors! I plan to have two "Seminars" for the first event. The first being led by Flynt on "Basic Footwork with Lance and Spear". This will go from 9:15-10:15, with the second class going from 10:15-11:15. Sounsyy has offered to pick up an instructing slot, though I have a back up just in case too! (I will hit you up again Sounsyy on here to confirm
)
- Training friendly location! We are remodeling the Berry Lodge and facilities to accommodate this event. Hoping to get two private training rooms set up and the front lawn prepped for all the attendees!
- Servers, Bartenders and Attendants! Tribal Relations (LYNX) has graciously offered to help us with our serving and attendant needs!So when you want to take a break from the sparring and have a drink, indulge in some drink or snacks, or simply hang out for a bit, LYNX will be there to help you out!
- Training Overseers - Sparring is serious business, and it doesn't hurt to have a few overseers to point out little flaws and offer advice as people are going at it. Overseers would help provide feedback and constructive criticism to those training to help them hone their craft.Â
- Peacekeepers - Sparring is, well, still serious business, and sometimes people's tempers can get the better of them. Peacekeepers ensure that no one does anything they will regret, and if they do, that they regret it. Big thanks to Uther Skystrider Clementine Whittaker and Jacqueline Henner from Misericorde for stepping up to uphold some order and keep out the riff raff!
- Trainees - Come down and learn a thing or two! Get beat up or do the beating! This is all about learning some fun IC stuff and getting to meet others you may never get the chance too! (ALL THE PEOPLES)
