Formerly horse trainer, now jobless. I'm currently working on improving my formation in the hope to rise my job offers ratio. I'd still like to work around horses, but at this point, I'll take anything..
To be an interesting, intriguing, well-written character, there needs to be something to allow the audience to relate to them. That is what the problem is with who wants their character to be "perfect". Perfect characters will never be strong, and strong characters will never be perfect, because WE (those who read, who watch, who RP) are not perfect.
"What makes a strong character is how they deal with their flaws, their fears, their turmoils, their troubles that get in the way. That's what makes them relatable." -- N.C. |

Previously I worked for Right from the Start Medicaid in Georgia. I'm now a house wife going back to school for a second degree in Accounting... cause my first one could only get me a job working for Medicaid... and dealing with DFCS. School for the win!

Currently full time student for commercial photography, two more semesters then done.
I've been published in several editorials. I'm also a freelance illustrator to bring in a bit of money over summer breaks. Ideally once I'm finished I'll be working commercially or working as a digital tech. Both are pretty enjoyable. Nohni Vhaze || Khad Dotharl

I'm a process controls engineer that works for Fisher Controls International. I engineer control valves and regulators that keep power plants and the like from going boom. If there's a fluid flow that needs to be controlled in the southwest United States, I've probably engineered a valve for it! |

I've mentioned it in passing in a few places, but I'm a contract programmer. My company finds people who need programmers, hook me up for an interview with them, and - if I impress them - I go work for them writing code for a while.
Currently, I'm doing work for a county in Maryland. Most of the code has been deciphering and trying to complete unfinished code done by other folks (which I've complained about quite a bit in the HUMANITY WHY thread), but I've also worked on a couple from-scratch projects (which I probably also complained about). I'm also snagged pretty often for testing applications, though they are often confused by what being a tester MEANS - the people who coded the application often try to get me to get the source code and make the fixes myself (not what a tester does). I can't complain too much, though. Deadlines are mostly flexible, most of the unfinished stuff I get is usually just a few bits away from being done, and I get a decent bit of downtime between said projects to sorta hang out watching YouTube videos and (occasionally) doing some studying on stuff like Project Management. |

I just said it in another thread elsewhere today, soooo....
I work for the IT department for my local school district, mostly handling the quick n' dirty stuff and creating dispatch tickets for anything that requires an in-person visit. I'm on the office-bound part of the team, which gives me time between issues, and during slower parts of the year, to keep up with this and that in gaming. However, I used to be an English/Composition/Literature teacher for a long time, and have done adjunct/associate work in three different schools over that time. I liked the college lifestyle, and made great strides in my specialties, but a lot of changes in the way my state handles things have drastically increased workloads on teachers while at the same time reducing opportunities, eliminating many positions and raising stress levels with no increase in pay. It's the line of work I went to school for... but I don't really miss it anymore. "But in the laugh there was another voice. A clearer laugh, an ironic laugh. A laugh which laughs because it chooses not to weep."

I just graduated. Marketing Major. I had an internship set up to work for a Financial Advising firm, but that fell apart because the owner of the company had a massive heart attack and that shook everything up.
So now I'm just unemployed and looking for a plan B. Which is challenging where I live with my studies and that's why I want to move. I could easily pursue a sales job but a good amount of them are full commission, which doesn't pay the bills. What I really want is to work at an advertising agency. I'm going to a career fair soon to see if I can get anything. I just hope to find work soon. I feel terrible knowing that I'm not working yet. |
