Aha! A template! Good, this will hopefully stop me from rambling! I originally tried ffxiv when a free trial became available near launch. At the time I didn’t put as much time into it as it deserved as I was tied up in several other games. But now I’m back, I’ve tried the game properly and I absolutely love it! Ahem, question time:
--MMORPG background
I’ve dabbled with all sorts of MMO’s but began my RP life in the SWTOR forums and then into the actual game itself. I was there for a very long time before moving on to GW2 where I had an equally long stint. After that I tried all sorts of games, TESO, TSW, Archeage and TERA to name a few. I adore MMO’s, mainly for the open world and social experience.
--RP experience
All the games mentioned above, I’ve RP’d in. TOR and GW2 having my longest running characters. I would often run a few characters at once, especially in GW2 where I co-ran a guild but in general I like to stick to developing a single character and seeing where the RP takes me. Ive met some amazing people that way and made several bonds I still keep to this day. Generally my experience always starts off as something simple like with tavern RP. But I have also dabbled in military, criminal and mercenary RP. Like I mentioned before, I co-ran a guild, so fully aware of how challenging directing, creating and organising group RP can be.
--Character ideas/info
I’ve already briefly RP’d my crazy Miqo’te. She’s a healer, a very curious, scatter-brained healer. I’m having tons of fun playing her at the moment because she’s such a good source of comedy. She tends to say whatever pops into her head, or go off on some wild tangent that just leaves her companions confused. I love RP’ing characters that are interested in anything and everything, it makes conversations incredibly easy to strike up. I’d describe Khiri as a cute, babbling, scatty genius- though she rarely focusses on one thing long enough for any of that intellect to become apparent.
--How did you learn about the coalition?
To be honest, I just googled it. Whenever I start a new MMO, an RP site is the first thing I search for.
--What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy?
I’m normally a heavy RP’er. I love being in character as often as possible. However, my character is only in her early 30s at the moment, so I will also be dedicating some time to exploring the main story. So… I suppose I will be a medium RP’er until endgame, when I’m likely to switch back to heavy again.
--Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc)
Hmmm… well, the thing about RP is that it helps me refine my writing abilities. I would love to be a writer, all the short stories I’ve written have been very character fcussed, so naturally my time in MMO’s helps quite a bit as I get to try and live in a character’s head. Apart from that, I’m extremely geeky. I’m into my video games and movies. Especially bad movies, there’s nothing I like better than making fun of them. I also tell far too many terrible jokes. I currently live in the UK, working with autistic adults. And when work’s over, I can most likely be found online.
