I'm new to FFXIV as of early June. I'm a JRPG/SRPG fan coming to this world of Eorzea for the first time and hoping to find friends who discuss the world building and lore. I am currently Lv30 Warrior, Paladin, Scholar, Summoner, White Mage and Black Mage and love the story of the game so far. I am doing all of the class quests so I can learn more of the game's lore. I'm about half way through the main story quests on my White Mage.

I am currently working on my character's story and how she fits in to the world and her eventual RP jobs and crafts.

My friend recommended this forum to me and I can see it lives up to her admiration. Nice to meet you.

Firstly, welcome to FFXIV-Roleplayers.Â

I don't know of many active lore-seeking or strict lore abiding free companies but I am certain there are some. However if you have any questions i'd recommend searching the forums for topics that you have interest in - or rummaging through quest text on XIVDB.

Wow, I love your character wiki page! Gin is a really pretty name for silver-haired Doman character. Thank you for your advice. I am too new to join a free company maybe. I am thinking of starting out with just a linkshell. There are so many good FC to choose from from what I have seen examining other role players in Limsa Lominsa.

Seems like there is a lot of lore posts on the forum actually. Maybe that is good enough instead of a linkshell.Â Big Grin

Thank you! Haha, It was supposed to be a play on words for her name, as Gin means both Silver and Gold - her amily are all merchants and such..

I thought it was funny

Yep! There's lot of lore threads here on the RPC! If you have any questions feel free to post them up in a thread or even in this thread and folks will come around and answer them! Feel free to send me a PM as well if you don't wanna make a thread. ^^

Just want to say your lore posts Sounsyy have been super thorough and great to read. Lots of lore resources for this game without a linlsehll between here and Gamerescape.

That is quite the impressive spread of classes! I would like to point out that there is a system in place where any class that is below your top-leveled one gets a 50% increase in experience permanently, so if you find one you love in particular it could definitely save you some time on the leveling. However, if this is just to get all the lore on your own pace, do not let me interrupt your method. I somehow missed this nugget of information when I started!

Feel free to give a shout if you need any sort of help figuring out the backstory. Some story elements don't appear until later - looking at you Ishgardians - and make for wonderfully culture-influenced characters if that is your bit!

Sorry I didn't see your post earlier! I did all my classes despite knowing about armory system... I'm just really stubborn about leveling everything together for gear consistency... Even the crafts too! Soon I'm sure this method will exhaust me and I'll finally pick my main... But stupid stubborn completionist is just my personality sometimes. X3

Many Free Companies are incredibly welcome to new folk, helping them get clears and learn the game, so you're never too new to join one -- that's what we're here for! As you've seen this site is very helpful with lore, so please be welcome to post any questions you may have. Smile

People have been really helpful and friendly in-game and here on the forum. I am happy to say all my questions have not just been answered but I have learned twice as much as I hoped from everyone who helps me.

See you in game sometime! I am still working on my character but I can't wait to go to Ul'dah and RP soon rather than just watch nervously wishing i could join X3
