Hello! Sorry if this is rambling or badly-written; I'm not great at this kind of thing.

So, to keep this short, I'm looking for an RP FC (or linkshell, I suppose, but an FC is ideal) that gets out in the world and does adventure stuff, and is lore-compliant. City RP is all well and good, but there's plenty of stuff out in the world that needs a good stabbing and/or set fire to. As for lore-compliance...well, I want to RP in FFXIV because I like FFXIV, you know? So I'd like to stick to existing lore as much as possible, not go inventing whole countries or what have you. Nothing against people who are into that, it just isn't my thing.

If it's important, about me: I've been roleplaying for a while now, I think around ten years. I got my start in Warcraft 3 of all places, though I really hit my stride in World of Warcraft, where I found a wonderful guild who were willing to overlook the fact they were all way out of my league. I've also done some tabletop games, mostly D&D and World of Darkness. I'm no RP superstar and I have a lot of room for improvement as a writer, but I think I'm mostly passable on the whole.

Outside of RP, I mostly tank, and I like to pretend I'm passable at it. I'll never be a hardcore Savage raider type, but if it's dungeons or non-hardcore raid stuff, I'd be happy to get punched in the face repeatedly for your enjoyment. It's what I'm best at.

As for my character...I'll spoiler it so it doesn't take up too much space:

SpoilerAriunbold is a Xaela Au Ra, specifically of the Mierqid tribe. He lived a fairly mundane life among his tribe while young, until a chance encounter with a wanderer who happened to share his tribe's campsite one night.

The wanderer regaled them with tales of his journeys, describing the many exotic places he'd been to. Ariunbold was enchanted by the stories of all that was beyond the desert. Within the year he gathered his things and simply left one day, when the tribe was near the edge of the desert. He had decided that the Mierqid tribe didn't live, it simply persisted - an endless routine that had no purpose but to continue itself eternally.

Since then, he's wandered the world mostly aimlessly, simply going where the wind takes him. After a few years of this, he decided on a goal: he would see as much of the world as he could, learn of its peoples, its cultures, everything he could. When he felt as if he had seen enough, he would return him and tell his tribe of all that lay beyond their eternal routine, and convince them to abandon their routine and finally start really living.

That day, if it ever comes, is still far off.

Ariunbold came to Eorzea to continue this endless journey, as his travels in Othard had grown mundane, and he heard of the Domans' exodus across the sea, giving him the bright idea to follow them.

Non-Backstory Stuff:

- I'd consider Ariunbold to be a good person in general. He's not exactly some bigshot hero - he doesn't go looking for wrongs to right, and above all he's most concerned with his journey (though he finds Eorzea interesting enough he's in no hurry to leave). But if he sees someone in trouble right in front of him, he'll almost always intervene if he's able.

- He's a skilled fighter in general. He's lacking in formal training, but his journeys have taken him to dangerous places and forced him to contend with wild beasts and vicious bandits. Raw experience has resulted in a good deal of martial skill. He also has innate talent as a mage, but has never been trained, leaving him barely able to use any kind of magic.

- I haven't RPed him ever, so I'm not totally solid on how his personality would be, honestly. I see him as being somewhat stoic emotionally, not one to react too strongly to most things. Extremely curious, though.

I think that's everything. Sorry if this is badly-written, or in the wrong section, or...any of the other myriad ways I could've messed this up. If there's anything unclear or confusing I'll gladly clear it up as well; I'm dead tired at the moment so I wouldn't be surprised if I completely forgot something. Thanks for reading.
