Yeah we have a "what are you listening to" thread and all. But this is a bit different. We as rpers all have those go to songs for curtain types of RP. So I'm asking, what are these songs and how do you use them.

For those emotional rpes doing with Flames. Lose of a friend in battle, high drama conflicts, such stuff like that. Use to use it a bit for Erik's lonely rp, but his family has grown to a point he isn't lonely anymore.

Took a break from the Sworn aspect of the character due to rl stuff, but recently moved him back into being the Liaison to the Sworn and Flames, and me and a few other such Sworn are starting up some good old FBI styled adventures Sworn Style. RP these new little romps I've borrowed this one.

Daddy was a DRK, baby girl (Vanya) is heading that way, cannot let them have all the fun. Though not a "DRK" really, I've started playing around with a "Dark Paladin" idea. Secret of course, no one can ever know ic... the shame. Is it me rping in a little sandbox alone? A dream? Who knows, DRK is to fun not to kick around, we all got that edgelord itch, I'm just honest when I say it needs a scratch.

So stories, forum, ingame, what songs play the most when you create?

i use a lot of anime soundtracks to help me write. if it's more emotional/somber stuff i usually go with angel sanctuary or .hack/sign. more action stuff is typically witch hunter robin ghost in the shell and some seether (not anime but still works ;p ) also looots of gackt. so many different feels in his music and i pick at least one track for almost any type of rp x3

but i do have one song; i've found recently that's just so emotional and great for those moments when a character is feeling rejected.

I just like to put on long background tracks. Etrian Odyssey has good tracks so sometimes I use loops of them, or long videos like these with a bunch in a row (the first for calm scenes, the second for violence).

For me, music can pretty much be anything that fits the mood. I'll put on soundtracks for mood music, I'll listen to one song on repeat should it fit what I need - I did that for a short story I wrote for one of my characters not long ago, actually.

Was pretty much what I needed, despite having an entire playlist for the short story I wrote.

I'm pretty flexible in terms of music when I RP, or write in general, really. I've written fight scenes (fast paced) to Nightwish, so I can pretty much write to anything. Sometimes it's just a matter of finding what fits the mood for me.

I tend to listen to easy going or upbeat music when roleplaying as Septhaja, which is funny since she's so darn grumpy. I do have a love for Touhou Circle music as well, ranging from orchestrated to electronic and even metal. New Retro Wave music as well has been a regular on my playlists!

When it does get more serious or I'm roleplaying as Ira, I tend to go for rougher and sometimes darker music. Glam rock has slipped in there quite a few times as well, which is a little amusing.
