Hallr’s Vanguard, is a Company of Mercenaries founded by Rythiel Rothmoore, and a group of likeminded individuals who formed the backbone of the Company upon its founding. In order to get off of the ground as a Company, they were approached by the Maelstrom, who had need of some Mercenaries they could rely on to take care of issues they might’ve not had the time to do, or the manpower to do so on. This was helped along by the Captains former working relation with the Maelstrom, albeit a rather forced one in its beginning. It had served to prove his mettle to them, which ultimately helped with cementing their assistance.
As the Company settles into its being, they continue to welcome other like minded souls who seek to make a living for themselves, the way a Mercenary would. But they’re also always on the look out for Capable healers to assist them afield or after a tough contract. Along with Suppliers who have skills they can offer to the Company's goals.
They’ve made their temporary home amongst the denizens of Camp Bronze Lake in Upper La Noscea. Remaining within reach of the Maelstrom who supply a bulk of their work, yet not directly on their front door as to rule out other potential contractors. Yet the location is also a hotspot for Contracts in its own right. With various problems lurking all around in the form of local Wildlife, Beast tribes, and on occasion even Garleans.
The theme of our Company is to function as a group of Mercenaries. We hold our allegiance to ourselves, and whoever might happen to be the one paying us during the contracts we take. Whilst the Company doesn’t consider itself to belong to any City State or work explicitly for one, they do have a well maintained working relationship with the Maelstrom, who played a small role in the Company's founding and also supply a steady stream of contracts.
That’s not to say we’ll just take a contract because the pay's good, as whilst we might not be Knights in shining armour who do good out of the good of our hearts.. We’re not exactly evil either. If we don’t agree with the premise of a contract, and what we’d be being asked to do, then we’d simply not take it and find a new contract.
True Neutral, A neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. They don't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil-after all, they would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, they’re not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way.
Some neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run.
We’re a Heavy RP FC through and through, we embrace realism and mature behaviour / actions into our RP. One such being consequences for your in character actions that’d of course vary depending entirely on said actions! An example of this being we’re not the Warriors of Light, we’re not some renowned Adventurers with a mass of fame and fortune. We’re Mercs! So we’re bound to end up injured from a particularly difficult contract.
Now I’m not saying that with with the themes we embrace, everything will be downright grim. We’ll certainly not shy away from those themes on occasion. We certainly won't be trying to sugarcoat things either.
We have our preferred RP style as touched upon in the above, and try to maintain quality over quantity. That saying could often be misinterpreted as saying we’d only take in people with years of experience. But I can assure you that isn’t the case, everyone was new at some point, be it to RPing, or simply the Lore of a new game to RP in. We’re here to help each other, and grow our community together! So we’ll gladly do what we can to support those along the way, who are interested in joining us for the ride.
Given the nature of the Company, we’ve gone down the route of a fairly basic, but efficient ranking system. One which allows anyone to progress up the ranking ladder as they prove themselves within the Company!
Captain - Leader of the FC
Lieutenant - Officer Rank
Chief Sergeant - Officer Rank
Sergeant - Sub Officer Rank
Corporal - Highest non Officer rank
Lance Corporal
Veteran
Private

AFK
So just why us exactly? Well if everything above has you interested, you’ve part of your answer there! We might not be the most longstanding FC around some of the bigger ones ingame, but we’ve a solid and active group of people thus far, and have seen a fair few join our ranks lately after they’d approached us!
If you’ve further questions for us, you can contact anyone in the below section, and we’ll gladly do our best to answer whatever questions you have. Or if you’re interested in joining, you can head over to our website and drop in an application! We’ll do our best to respond in a timely fashion (Generally within 24 Hours as a maximum), and leave any feedback we might have there, or contact you ingame for a chat!
