It seems quite well populated, but I have yet to encounter a fellow roleplayer. Balmung is obviously not an option. What now? Eeeeeeek. Aside from Balmung (which is locked down hard) the unofficial RP servers are Mateus (for NA timezones) and Omega (for EU timezones) Either of those servers are probably your best bet. There are also some small RP communities on other servers, but I know next to nothing about them.

Mateus is honestly going to be your best bet for RP aside from Balmung, which is currently closed due to how many people are in that server. Mateus is super friendly and very welcoming, a lot of RP to be seen! If you'd like, make an alt here and see how you like it.
