You guys have no idea. I LOVE to cook like no other. I might not be a professional chef, but I've seriously considered it at points.

I'm not a very good cook, except for very certain things. Most of which are soups. I make good Matzoh Ball soup, fieldpeas/blackeyed peas with salted pork, um... Some other things.

My boyfriend actually prefers to cook, does a lot of the cooking. But I do help him out every so often, especially if he's raiding or something I'll do the cooking cause hey he makes it what 5 other days out of the week. Wink

Â Think I can pull off a 'suitable' non crispy meal for him during a raid night. *snerk*

Go ahead and live up your mothers cooking while you can. The real world is a harsh mistress. I have lived with over five different women in my short life and none of them really knew how to cook. Hell, I don't even know how to cook. I can microwave a mean burrito though, make sure its not frozen in the middle and everything.Â Moogle

I used to live off my mom's cooking for so long, until she got tired of it and gave me a folder with all of her recipe's in them and said "go learn" and it was pretty much trial by fireÂ Wink

Though this sounds strange I always looked at cooking as a great replacement hobby. Sure you screw up and there can be expletive laden hysterics within a small kitchen but if you have supportive friends or family that really have no expectations and don't mind being guinea pigs, why not?

I know my mom taught me how to cook, though I certainly took it and ran with it. I really like cooking, but those dishes...those dishes. Why do so many beautiful dishes have to require a ton of pots and pans and then more plates and bowls on top of it.... [Image: huh.gif]

I would probably cook for fun things if I had a better dishwasher(or a designated person to fill such a role)

I'm a terrible cook. But it's okay because it helps keep my weight at a good place, haha! I always tell my roommate if I could cook stuff I liked to eat, I would end up on TLC on one of those My 700lb Life shows.

I am really good at making scrambled eggs, though!

I'm a good cook and I don't mind doing so. I've been helping out with the cooking since I was a kid since both parents worked.

I just hate going grocery shopping, so my choices are generally pretty limited.

Funny, I can cook, but I can only do a handful of dishes... or at least, that I've even attempted to do.

Spaghetti and meat sauce, a bunch of egg-related dishes, special fried rice, garlic shrimp, garlic & ginger salmon, fried corn, and a few other simple things like that. I'm pretty happy with my dishes (as is everyone who's tasted them), but I'm kind of frustrated with my own inability to experiment and do something new.

I'm thinking I should challenge myself to do at least one new dish a week.
