I want to be on the fresh-start RP server, but it won't let me create there. I'm afraid if I go elsewhere, I won't find the community and friendships that I seek.

Should I keep holding out for who knows how long or just buckle and create on a diff server?

If you must, just wait until early start/release and hope your name isn't taken. The creation restrictions will be lifted then.

I wouldn't know. I'm on Balmung, which I'm sure has its own issues, but I'm mainly there because my friends are, which makes it all the better.

Well, I don't have any pre-existing FFXIV friends to meet up with. Was looking forward to making ones. I guess I'll give it some more time today to see if Gilgamesh comes up...

Both servers are going to be good, it's down to personal choice. I don't think we'll be accessing the servers (unless your one of the lucky few who manage to get through the barrier) untill early access/release.

Not to mention, you'll make friends regardless of which server choice.

Well, Exodus has opened up. Maybe I'll g'head and make a character there. Or maybe I'll wait til next week. I dunno. Hmm Huh

I'd wait it out. At the moment the only servers avalible are the 3 new ones they literally just released today. It's likely those 3 won't be as populated come launch day. Sooo I'd suggest just waiting. After all, today is the final day of beta anyways. So even if you did make a character, you wouldn't get very far =P

atleast if we wait it out, we won't have to be scratching at the walls because we know what we're missing out on.

If RP is your main concern I'd suggest rolling on Balmung (though as I understand that may be full as well?) or waiting for Gilgamesh. If RP is just a secondary or tertiary concern then there are plenty of servers old and new to pick from.

Other than the fact that you'll see people in AF gear or riding Legacy Chocobos on Balmung I actually didn't see that much of a difference in the two servers. The economy seems pretty much the same as of yesterday, and the amount of new players on Balmung vastly outweighs the old ones, so if playing with Legacy players doesn't scare you I'd suggest giving it a try.

Just be patient but if Gilgamesh is closed and Balmung opens head there, you can always make an alt on Gilgamesh later.

What do I do if Gilgamesh is full???
