You can see intense sexual scenes in some higher, but not R, rated movies and still find an emotional satisfaction. This is without seeing the naughty parts. It doesn't have to be like porn. Although, in said movies, they're usually in a private place. "I'm not interested in being polite or heterosexual."

The fact that you can get emotional satisfaction from seeing sexual scenes in a movie rather than porn still doesn't mean that porn is harmful to the society But that is probably a discussion we shouldn't take here I came for the ERP, I stayed for the free booze. |

I actually had a point but the forum was sitting up for about thirty minutes before I got back to it and forgot what I was going to say. "I'm not interested in being polite or heterosexual."

In my old WoW guild we used to have a single 14 year old with us. The group kinda ragged him out quite a lot but he had fun. But suffice to say some discussion was overheard by his parents and they started to question what kinda guild he was in. Which I somewhat agree with, parents do need to take a closer look of what their children are doing.
Oh, and pie is awesome. Though not American pie and it's sequals though... |

I've had younger members in guilds before. Usually, one of their older relatives was already a member, and brought them in to the guild. For the most part, chat was kept pretty clean and profanity was at a minimum. From that perspective, as long as the kid could act mature enough, there was no problem at all.
On the other hand, if a guild/linkshell/company didn't want to have to worry about the content of their conversations I could easily see why they wouldn't want a youngster there. I've seen mature kids, and grandparents. Overall, I think the individual determines maturity, not how old they are. Luckily, there is the RPC. There are so many different linkshells out there, everyone who wants should be able to find a place to belong. Even the little brats. |

I've known quite a lot of kids who actually behave while playing MMOs even more so if they like to RP, they were immature in real life, but knew not to cause drama online as it would hurt a lot more than it would do good.. It might be because I have faith in my students, but never the less.
I believe that in the end, individuality should be taken into consideration, that means a lot of work of processing applications, but hey hard work pays. Instead I say let people join, if they turn out to be younger than 18, meaning that they lied their way in, base your on whether to kick them or not on their behaviour up to that point. Lying is bad btw.. Very much so. There is perhaps no phenomenon which contains so much destructive feeling as moral indignation, which permits envy or to be acted out under the guise of virtue. - Erich Fromm |

It might be because I have faith in my students, but never the less. I agree with that, I know plenty of very mature people under 18, but as I've said, at least with BF, it doesn't really have anything to do with maturity, but rather with not wanting to cencur the chat. Of course if people tell us they're 18, and really are not, and then in general act maturely, there's no way for us to check, right? I came for the ERP, I stayed for the free booze. |

Is it really so hard to personally travel around the country and verify each individual guild member? You all sound lazy. Tsk tsk.

The country? Try the globe So far we, we have members from 2 continents and a possible application from a 3rd.
But you're right, it is sort of unprofessional of us. I came for the ERP, I stayed for the free booze. |

I say we just stop accepting people, that would solve most problems.. Except maybe if your LS has very few members.
