Hi there RPers! First off, I just want to say how excited I am to find a nice thriving group of RPers early on in my FFXIV journey. I've been doing the MMO thing for years, but usually wind up stumbling on the RP community by accident, often after picking a wrong server or two. So, I decided to be proactive this time and did a nice google search for FFXIV RPers, which led me here.
I've been an RPer in tabletop games for more than 15 years, and in MMOs for about eight, though I haven't done any serious MMO RPing in almost a year. I tend towards medium RP- as in, I'm willing to drop out of character to accomplish in-game goals, and do work pretty strongly towards character advancement when not RPing. However, I also like to create and utilize extensive backstories and ongoing RPs, and usually wind up separating IC abilities from that which I have in game (for instance, my character S'janna possesses only minimal amounts of magical talent at the moment ICly, even though she's advancing steadily along as an arcanist).
Also, I've actually already posted in the '100 questions' thread, since answering those (especially doing so ICly) really helped me sort out S'janna's backstory and personality more than simply mulling it over in my head (plus, committing it 'paper' kept me from going back and forth on some parts, as I otherwise would still be doing).
Anyhow, I'm looking forward to getting to know people and participating in the community. Thanks for having me!
