What do you want that name to say?
What exactly are you becoming? I know you're going more mainstream-ish while still covering all things RP, the name should define what you are.

Also, I loved the mall analogy but I dunno.. I been too busy with other stuff to think about commenting, I guess! Tongue

In your first podcast under that new name, you can start by saying that the E actually stands for Eorzea as opposed to Erotic and that roelplaying is not cybering and anyone who thinks so is sick. Tongue

We aren't really going mainstream other than the fact that we are going to be hosted by Eorzeapedia/Aetheryte Radio. They asked us to change only a few things about the formatting of the show (Music breaks have been nixed), otherwise the show is still our brainchild and ours alone. Apart from doing anything completely offensive we are allowed to do whatever we feel is right for covering the topic. So just try to think of us as the same small cool brand that you used to only be able to find in specialty shops, but now are brand is being sold in a large chain store that appears in a ton of malls! (Trying to extend the life of this mall-metaphor as long as I can)

/get's back on topic.

I do think that having ERP is a funny and cool idea, I just don't want anyone who RPs and who doesn't know about the RPC/RPCV to be turned off to us simply because of the name.

Really, we need something snappy, something that rolls of the tongue and is easily remembered. Like the way Pet Food Alpha/Limit Break Radio are.

Well, if you want something more serious and catchy, how about...

Linkshell Radio?

While not being fully IC, you could always pretend that you're actually talking to each other with your linkpearls rather than with Skype, and things like that. In a way, you'd be immersed in the world of FF XIV, but you'd break the 4th wall about it.

As if Eorzean were aware of being in a game (like we see in some cartoons and comics and such) and could talk about stats and mechanics and computers and it was normal. Like you were RPing yourselves in that context, pretending that. Would make RP look like just another fun way to do things, could be fun for you and for the listeners, and rather than explain, you'd just be showing by example, though in a pretty casual way.

I dunno if I'm making my idea understandable enough. ^^;
Anyway that's my last suggestion. Tongue

P.S. "we aren't really going mainstream except for [insert 7-lines paragraph worth of exception]" isn't very convincing. Tongue

That sounds like a neat idea, I'll have to run it by Sunny Dove as he is moving, Mason can take a looksie here. We'll defiantly consider that.

(Hardly 7 lines of exception, still the same product, just on more shelves...)

Great idea and nice name Smile

The only additional suggestion I'd have to add to this would be to perhaps have seperate episodes where one is done IC (to explain current events with RP lore) and the other is done OOC (to talk about game mechanics, etc)

What about something Eorzean themed, like Radio Navigator (Llymlaen would rule the airwaves as well as the seawaves, right?), or a direct take from the game, Oschon's Torch.

Well, there is already a IC show in the works over at Aetheryte Radio, and as we don't want to get into any conflicts with that team we are going to have to be entirely OOC unless we are doing a segment like the one last episode with the old cannibal man.

I love the idea of taking the name directly from the game, Oschon's Torch is a fabulous idea I think. But going in that line of thought, are there any beta testers out there who have seen something in-game that they thought would make a cool name? Obviously you probably weren't thinking about it when you saw it, but if you have seen anything or see anything, please leave your thoughts here.
