Hi There!

While I've had slight exposure to MMO games before, I have absolutely no experience with role playing. However I'm really enjoying this game and after reading a few threads I thought why not give it a go! My character is Clemente Al'vere and I just created him on the Balmung server. While I don't have any back story to my character yet I'm looking forward to developing him as I go.

Anyway while the idea makes me a bit nervous and no doubt I'll make a fool of myself I'm eager to give it a go! If there's anyone out there with some good tips or would like to run through some things with me in the game please let me know! Smile

we all had to start somewhere! glad to hear you've decided to make an attempt here. I'm going to preface everything i'm a bout to say with a big fat "Take your time! don't rush! This RP handbook written by the illustrious Eva is a great resource to kill in any gaps of knowledge you might have about roleplaying in general and with a specific focus of FFXIV roleplay. The index at the top (hidden in the spoiler) should help you get a feel for how the main categories are broken down. Though lengthy it is worth the read for new and old players a like.

"Intermission" is like a gigantic forums for roleplayers to OOC shout things at each other, be it their favorite colour, the particular brand of laced doily they might be looking for as well as a whole host of other information. Really an awesome place to get to know people. As a warning the majority of people here are 'mature' so there might be the occasional genitalia joke, all in good humor I assure you. (look out for the Roegadyn, they're usually the worst hehe.)

"Balmungs Finest" is an out of character linkshell all about that sweet sweet group content. Farming a dungeon to get a piece of gear you think looks good? heres the place to find the group, or even just to farm out mythology tomes. Part of the ideal behind BF is to give a chance to work together and strengthen the community not just through talking, or character interaction. Just another way to get to know the people of the RPC.

The Coffer and Coffin is an open Tavern RP this weekend. There's no requirement of attire, duration of stay or fee to enter. Just pop in when ever you'd like, say hello or stick to yourself. Good chance to see just how many people are out there.

This must be new RP Miqo'te week. It is nice to meet you Sarlorius. My character in-game is Kiht Jakkya. If you want, you can do a player search in-game and send me a tell or add me to your friends list. If you are shy, I can seek you out instead. Either way, I am always willing to RP with anyone.

I would be a safe person to practice with as I am very nice and non-judgmental. However, I could say that about most of the people in this community.

Welcome to Balmung and the RPC! Don't be scared to just jump right in to the RP scene, I know it can be daunting if you're new to the whole idea but trust me if you see any of these guys they're the friendliest out there that I've ever met. On that note, if you ever see me in game on any of my alts don't be afraid to say hello!
