Yeah, between work, social life and other stuff I doubt I will ever hit this cap. Especially because I plan on playing many different classes.

Full time job + college + doing stuff with the gf will let me play probably 5hrs a day if that. I'm a grinding bot but I don't forsee me hitting this cap anyways. Quote:What is the cap? I don't think I've seen it O.o No one knows what the cap is, it's a formula SE made to show how much an average human being would be able to gain xping for a total of 8hrs a day. After that amount of xp has been gained by you, you begin to suffer fatigue until you reach 0% xp gained. Swapping to another class will reset this though so it's not a big deal at all. It just forces people to actually level other jobs (which they will need to do anyways) and stops people from botting to max level or burning to the top, like WoW, and then complaining there's jack all to do. |

Makes sense really. Does it affect your actual level then?

UnbeknownstGhost Wrote:Makes sense really. Does it affect your actual level then? How do you mean? It effects the amount of xp you gain after a certain threshold is hit, and then slowly begins to lower the % of xp you gain until you reach 0%. Wherein you have to swap classes if you are still in a grinding mood...or just keep grinding for items and materials....or take a shower |

Don't you have an actual level and a class level? Or am I going bat-shit insane?

You have a skill rank that goes up when you gain skill points, and a physical level that goes up when you gain experience points. You're not crazy
Also, I didn't intend to say they were right about what they said, just that they were justified in their emotions. But then again I guess, if you look back on it, they brought this on themselves by not explaining everything. However, my opinion has drastically changed since they've explained the system (somewhat) especially the point that your fatigue slowly resets when not in combat. Also, the "timer" is based off of the amount of skill/experience points you gain and not really time at all. It makes a lot more sense to me and now I really don't think I'll ever need to worry about hitting 0% gains. |

Switching classes effects your SP not your XP correct? So you earn less xp over time?

Yes, but your xp goes up a bit faster than your sp. So, assuming you are leveling multiple jobs, when you are a skill level 9 conjurer, sl 6 pug, you will be around physical level 13.

:approve: Alright got it. And you earn xp for doing crafting work as well.

Yes, since crafters are their own class. I got a lot more EXP versus SP while crafting. Rank ups took just slightly longer than DoW and DoM classes I tried out.

If I'm understanding the Surplus system right, you won't get xp until the cooldown is done. You'll get sp but not xp. I think I got that right....

And the cooldown is only out of combat?
