The next phase of user deletion will be much larger than the last. Only 43 users were deleted last time. This time it'll probably be several hundred, which will be a huge relief to our overall database. So my question is, how should we determine who to delete? Anyone with 0 total posts? Anyone who hasn't logged in since a certain date? Any other possible criteria? And should deleted users be warned beforehand somehow?

I'll try to preserve the user emails before deleting them like I did last time for our future campaign to bring more RPers back into Eorzea close to 2.0. Though this will require a ton of time and work and I'll probably need help with copy/pasting everything >.>

As many noticed, the forums were down most of the day. This was a result of the site putting too much stress on the overall server and our host demanding reductions in server resource usage. Thus, I had to delete a number of users and posts from the forums. I had hoped for more of a discussion as to who to delete but due to the circumstances, I had no choice (though no discussion was taking place at all anyway xD).

The following users have been deleted from the forum database. Reason: Not having logged in a single time since registration. Should anyone have been deleted who shouldn't have, they may re-register at their leisure. Emails of these users are preserved for the future 2.0 campaign. Total users deleted: Approximately 212 (plus several other bots not listed here). We are officially below 1,000 members again >.>. More users may be deleted by the next RPC update.

For the next site update, the following criteria will determine whether or not users get deleted:

1) Zero post count.
2) Not active since 2010.

Please note that BOTH criteria must be met to be deleted. So even if user Bob has a zero post count, but just logged in a few weeks ago, he will NOT be deleted. Users will be deleted PRIOR to posts. In this way, post count will be determined based on posts in the Necropolis as well as elsewhere.

If you're browsing this and worry if you'll be deleted, simply log in real quick and the forum will record you as "safe." It's also highly advised (though not necessary) that you at least make one post somewhere just to be safe.
