Quote:The Othardian steppe is a vast region, therefore, every so often, one may come across a Xaela with a surname that is not found on the list of 51. This may mean that they are from a clan that was recently destroyed or absorbed. It may mean that they are of a new tribe that was formed by members leaving another. It may mean they are of a tribe that remained hidden in the northern mountains.
This thread will house all the tribes both SE and the players have come up with. It is meant to help those looking to give a home to their Xaela. Please note that if you wish to use a tribe from the player made Database that it is kind to ask permission first unless otherwise noted by the creator! Names will be attached to the tribes so players will know who to get in contact with.

Quote:Zurgaa (Also known as the 6) - FREE TO USE
The people of the Zurgaa tribe are known as traders. Unlike most of the other Xaela tribes they interact with other races to trade and barter goods and services. They do not value gil, but love items meant to help make their lives easier such as linens, wools, dried meats, fish, and canoes, and others.
Quote:Nogoon - FREE TO USE
Named for their green tones, this tribe is often seen hiding with in the dense forests of the mountain side. Making their homes in the tree tops they rarely come to the ground but to hunt large prey. They hide from others but are highly curious. They have been known to follow travelers/adventurers and try to steal compasses and other shiny objects as they have a tendency to horde such things.
Quote:Makhchin (The Pack) - FREE TO USE (player would like contacted to know of other tribe members:Â S. Makhchin)
Tracing origins back to Noykin and Goro, this particular tribe places a heavy emphasis on animal partnerships (though not necessarily exclusive to horses). They bind themselves to their animal companions in a similar fashion to marriage, and once the pact is made will not form a bond with any other animal of that type (though they can have multiple animal partners of different species, ex: one horse, one falcon, ect within reason).Â
Some Xaela have been known to bond with as many as five separate beasts, though it is far more common for them to be bound to only two.
These bonds last the lifetime of both the Xaela and the animal in question, and when they pass they are mourned as if it was the passing of a close family member. Funerary traditions are frequently observed. Because of the closeness between Xaela and beast, they are fiercely protective of their companions and the deep bond between the pair makes it seem as if the two have forged a kind of mental link.Â
It is considered deeply disrespectful to touch another's animals without permission.
