I've noticed several people mentioned Pearls, and handing them out to people. As I never played 1.0, could someone please fill me in on what Pearls are and what they're used for?

That is quite an interesting item to have in a game. After playing WoW and other such MMOs by simply whispering people or guild chatting them, something like this has a lot of potential for RPing.

Yeah, it's nice because you can place your pearls on jewelry and such, and they glow when someone is trying to contact you. It makes a great reason for the ability to have long distance communication.
