The Silver Anvil is recruiting!

Good day and welcome! Today we would like to give a few snippets of information about the silver anvil, its organization, its goals and future projects.

What is the silver anvil again?

The anvil is a free company for merchants, craftsman and gatherer on the server Gilgamesh. We want to represent Gilgamesh's prime company for all things crafting roleplay, to where you can turn when things need be done both in style and quality.

So what is in for me then when I want to join or make business with the anvil?

Members of the anvil enjoy all the comfort that comes from a company dedicated for crafting. When you run into a dead-end with your need for material, be it hard to gather or made from different crafters, there should always be someone around to help you out.

Roleplaying a crafter is not always easy. Find company with others who want to do the same!

Business partner of the anvil will find themselves not wanting, either. Not only are we set to deliver high quality to make our name a famous one, we like to think of our prices more than just fair. Dedicated roleplay from newbie to veteran and high quality production values all in one business partner, what more can you ask for.

And what do I need to bring long when I want to join?

Pretty much just yourself, a dedication to your craft and to roleplay. That is all we require from you.

So how is the anvil structured?

Again, fairly simpel.

Newbies will begin as a bronze member for a trial period, that much should be simple to understand.

After that, you become a silver member, and gain access to the mutually available guild storage, free to use and share with your fellow craftsman.

Being awarded a gold member takes some dedication or great contribution to the guild. But it comes with its perks, as it allows you to apply for a specialized position within the anvil. Like signing up to become a broker and manage business or hook up craft order contracts.

Generally, the anvils members are allowed to pursue their own craft and work, while the anvil acts as platform for distribution and advertising. During great projects though, each member is called upon to pool their efforts for this mutual goal.

What do you plan for the future then?

The anvil is currently in preparation to revive its old tradition of the Anvil Market, a regularly re-appearing event in which the anvil will set up shop publically to offer services like craft, repair, meld and of course the selling of high quality goods. Highlight of each market will be an auction of wares of exceptional rarity or value, look forward to it!

In addition, the anvil, after forging an alliance with our shield and sword, the Echo Knights, will be available to take requests for otherwise specific RP events where participation of merchants or crafters is beneficial. Escort of overland goods transport comes to mind. Don't shy away from calling upon the anvil for such things when we have no announcements of our own.

The anvil can be either found here, or in game under the name Hiname Dawnpride. Though each of our members should be able to give you closer information should you require any more.

Question:Â can a character's first class be a crafting class or must everyone start as an adventurer for 10 levels?Â In beta, everyone was required to start with Adventuring.Â Will that be the same at launch or will there be more leniency with starting classes?

I believe that you have to start off as an adventuring class and finish the level 10 job quest before being the granted the ability to switch to a crafting/gathering profession. =(

I really like the theme and the plans you've got going, Akki!Â To tell you the truth, I had initially planned to start my own commerce-themed RP linkshell, but your vision is so close to mine that I think I should just sign up, as you were here first!

I really like the monthly bazaar and caravan events you have in mind.Â Bazaars, auctions, and economy summits would be a fantastic way to interact with Gilgamesh's community - any and all of it that wants to attend, and this would bring us a lot of curious recruits who want to give FF14 RP a try.Â (Something I consider super-important for our new community to flourish.)

What's your stance on multiple linkshells, and raiding with other linkshells?Â Ideally, I'd like to do content progression with a no frills kill-the-boss get-the-loot type guild, and roleplay with you guys.Â Does this sound good to you?

I know from my standpoint that's exactly where I'm at, and if you're looking for someone to do content progression with IE Dungeons, I'd be more than happy to heal the crap out of your party. Other than gaming I like roleplay, but at heart I'm pretty competitive and don't really like RPing through dungeons (bad past experiences) so know you'll find at least a few people who just like "getting the job done" so to speak. Though Akki may be able to elaborate on behalf of the Silver Anvil as a whole. ^^

Yeah, when I grind, I grind.Â When I raid, I raid.Â There's no in between for me.Â Either I'm in there for loot as fast as possible, or I'm in there to RP, depending on who I'm with and what was scheduled.

It's my intent to play every facet of 2.0 to its fullest, in terms of achievement and storytelling.

Generally, the anvil is not opposed to PvE or any other playstyle. Every member is welcome to do what he or she sees fit to do, as long as the support of the guild doesn't come too short while at it.

As for dugneons and raiding.. Well, let me try to put it like this. if the majority of the guild would like to go raiding together, I would be inclined to reach out for other RP companys to find some sort of agreement.

While I believe that "FULL RP" raids with more talk between trash groups then acctual fighting can be more of a buzzkill then entertaining, I believe a solid background as to WHY a RP company should go raiding should be there.

I can see the anvil paying a guild of seasoned adventurers to do the dirty work so we can snatch the shiny bits to broker off, or sponsoring an expedition for whatever reason we currently have. For example, of course. But, and that I can guarantee, the anvil will NOT go raiding for raidings sake with explicit non-RPers just ebcause they have a good progression rate.

So if we find a reason to, or a good partner to, the anvil might go see raiding content. Without either of that, I wouldn't bet on it.
