Actally, FFXIV is my first MMO! I've been a part of game communities with MMO elements (such as Ark, Destiny, Souls seriers, etc.) for years now, but this beauty was my first full fletched MMORPG. I'm still learning the ropes here but I'm starting to get hang of it little by little. But oh boe there's so much to do, it's kind of over whelming haha

RP experience:
Unlike MMOs, I've a long history with roleplaying, mostly with forum based ones Been at it over 10 years now. Wow, time flies when you have fun, eh?

Currently I'm planing to play my Au Ra girl (Raen) as a starting merchant/crafter with a prickly attitude and Healer background.
Her background story isn't yet fully developed (I'd love to get more ideas from you guys!), but I already know she'll be a functional alcoholic of sort haha.

What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? (e.g. Light, medium, or heavy):
I'll probably stay on light/medium end of the spectrum mostly because of the language barrier. English isn't my first language and while I can keep up with fluent conversation rather easily, I found walls of text kind of scary haha

Anything from real life you'€™re comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc.)
I'm an university student from Finland. So if my log in times are all messed up that's probably because of super weird timezone I can also lick my own nose, makes a neat party trick 8)

Returning to Eorzea after a years break. Never really tried RPing in Final Fantasy but, it sounds like it could be a lot of fun. I've seen that Balmung is considered THE RP Server. I was just wondering if any of you would advise paying for the transfer to weasel my way into the server.

I'm going to be starting on a Lala because, as a 5ft 4" male I can relate to them quite easily.

I've played MMOs for a long time now, over seven years, but I took to them as a very casual player and someone who is very hesitant on grouping up with others. FFXIV is one of the first games that make it entirely easy to group up with others and it's bringing up my confidence in that regard, but I'm very experienced in MMOs, be sure. I normally do healer roles or magic-based roles. I have played most fantasy-based mmorpgs for a time, but due to schedule constraints and my attention-span, I haven't been able to stick to them years at a time. (Until FFXIV, actually.)

2) RP Experience
About 10 years of solid RP experience. I've done LARP to forums. I have a preference to forums and paragraph-based roleplay, but chat rooms are no stranger to me. I'm just incredibly new to the idea of role playing within a game.

3) Character Ideas / Info
I don't have my character solidified just yet, I'm still trying to decide a nice backstory for her and how she became what she is. But, at the moment, her name is Airi! She is a Raen Au Ra Scholar who is a more timid being. She does get a little pouty, but mostly is as patient as can be.

4) How Did You Learn About the Coalition?
I've been looking into roleplaying in FFXIV since I started playing it, so with a few helpful links and advice from others around the Google-verse and reddit, I learned all about it! ♥

5) What Kind of a Role-Player Are You Aiming to Be?
With getting ever older, and having a very intense work-schedule at the moment, I'm hoping to maintain a more flexible and casual experience, but still have some heavy story development along the way. I won't lt work distract me from doing what I love, but I also won't let doing what I love harm my worklife, you know?

6) Real Life Tidbits?
Aside from being a writer my whole life, I absolutely love horror movies and Disney movies all the same. Sleeping Beauty is my favorite, alongside Beauty and the Beast, but my all-time favorite non Disney movie would have to be Repo! The Genetic Opera. I'm also a huge optimist, but I'm very hesitant and awkward, so conversations with me might just be a little strained at first until I get warmed up, but once I am warmed up, I'll be a bundle of sunshine; I promise! ♥]]>

• What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? It really depends on who I'm RPing with. I'm more than okay with small bits of light RP, but I greatly enjoy a long and deep storyline with others. I like to think I'm pretty flexible when it comes to RP.

As it stands, I've recently decided to try out Final Fantasy XIV Online, to see what it's like. While I was signing up, I started wondering about the RP community. So naturally, I looked it up. I'd not mind getting some fine RP done inbetween doing game content these days. Interested? Well, I am a little picky at times.

Brand new to FFXIV (I've never even touched FF or knew anything about the world before this) and eager to be part of the community.

Did some searching and found the two servers locked are the RP ones, so hopefully being on Adamantoise doesn't hurt me trying to find other people to RP with.

Still fresh newbie to the game, so go easy with the lingo.

  I'm a musician, artist and writer. Musician is my professional work as I am currently employed at a Game Dev studio making music. Art and Writing are my spare time hobbies and love creating new worlds with words and ink.
  
  
  So if anyone wants to teach me the ropes, how to play (Not get bad habits), and help me squeeze into the RP groups, I'd appreciate it greatly!

Probably the biggest reason I may not continue is the lack of chat bubbles. Wow, does that make it hard to tell who is talking and where it's coming from!

I made characters on a bunch of servers, found Mateus had the largest RP population, so have made that my home. Now that I’m fairly comfortable with the mechanics of FF14, tis time to reach out and get some roleplay going.

Started playing MMORPGs way back with Ultima Online. I’ve since spent time in Lineage 2, EverQuest 2, Guild Wars 2 (still play, and help run a tea shop there), Blade & Soul (no RP to be found there, sadly)

RP experience:
Been playing since the D&D Basic Set, and have since played many pen & paper RPGs before (and after) the coming of MMOs. Yeah, I’m old enough to be a parent to many of you. =P

Character ideas/info:
Of the many characters I tired, I latched onto a pair of Miqo’te. I tried to resist, I really did! But once I made them, and based their looks on my real life cats, there was no going back. FFXIV is something I have not tried before but have had it recommended by several people - I am also a massive Final Fantasy fan and the world, characters and setting looks right up my alley.

My character in game is known as Azra Korita - a male Miqo'te who opted to learn the way of the lance. I'm going to start playing the game tonight (GMT) alongside one of my friends in RL.

The reason I'm here is because I love the idea of social roleplay as I journey through the world. Obviously as a newbie I'm not looking for extremely lore-heavy RP, but I'm reaching out to hopefully find people to make friends with, party with, and learn more about. Azra's own backstory is a blank slate right now, but who knows what you may learn about him down the line if paths cross!

Long story short, please feel free to PM me on here or add me in-game if you ever want to chat or party - I'd love to meet new people on my journey. I'm also open to specific in-game roleplays, relationships and rivalries, whatever floats your boat.

On a side note, if anyone has suggestions for a good server to join (I haven't decided yet) then please let me know. I hear Balmung is the go-to server for roleplay, but also that it is often full and can be quite intimidating for new players. I'm also based in Europe, so an EU server would be preferable. Thoughts greatly appreciated!
