For those of you who don't know me, I used to run big rp events awhile ago.

Wow... okay so FOUR YEARS AGO I used to run big rp events... I'm feeling old suddenly. lol

I'm posting this because I'm currently I'm in the process of setting up another event and was curious to see if there was much community interest in the general concept before I posted the fleshed out details in the Event sub-forum.

This event will be a continuation of an event series entitled, 'In the shadows of Death's Wings'.Â To sum up first arc, an evil cult out to resurrect dragon thinking it's Nald'thal was stopped by bands of adventurers after some of the cult's super assassins called Crows went rogue. Links to threads are below if you desire more details.

So, plot behind this new RP Arc is that the Cult's new leader, recently freed from a Garlean prison, has returned and plans to rebuild her cult with the few remaining members of her flock and fulfill their destiny.

Current plans (though i know rp plans always change) is a three phase plot of undetermined length phases.

Phase 1 Will be the Cult rebuilding.

Phase 2 Will be Cult seeking revenge (can be mixed with phase 1)

Phase 3 will be a five event series that will wrap up everything in a nice climax

At this point, I'm simply looking for anyone who might be interested in:

1) In helping me run the event.Â I would need people to act as 'leaders' for both the heroes as well as the Crows.

2) Wanting to oppose the cult in some way.

3) Be a member of the cult or even creating a Crow (one of the Cult's otherworldly murder machines, though be aware are some restrictions should you wish to create one)

3) Just npcing sometime.

You don't have to fully commit or anything at this time.Â This is simply to gauge public interest.Â I'll be making a tumblr and a discord to help organize things as well as posting here.

Hey there, I'm T. I'm new to these forums but I've been around the game since 1.0 and I was curious about where I would be able to go for some RP my main chracter is on Mateus as I made the mistake of transferring off of Balmung a while back at the behest of my friend on a different sever. My main question is should I stick with my character on Mateus, I was unsure if it had an active roleplayer population, or if I would be better off using one of my alts over on Balmung? Feel free to ask me any further questions or for any kind of clarification.

So a friend and i got the game and are interested in the RP scene here, since we heard a lot about it. Now we come from GW2 EU and from what we hear things work a bit different here.Â

So i'm having a hard time figuring out what are the RP servers here? And which one we should try and join before we hop in?

Show Support for Cart Function at the Mogstation

Hey all, I know at least some of you like the stuff sold on the mogstation.

I've posted on the official forums asking for them to consider working towards a cart function.

The main reason is to avoid having to deal with your bank's fraud department because they placed a hold after you bought 4 items

If you have suggestions, feel free to express them on the official forums or here and I could forward them if you would prefer that.

Anything would probably be better than how the mogstation sells things now -_-

I have no one really to discuss this with, because many friends I had back in 1.0 I either lost contact with or we gone our separate ways, but I do know some still linger here and I found out a few days ago, while playing the MSQ again with a new character....

That the old Voice Actors are gone. They replaced all of the 2.0 MSQ voice overs with the new guys from 3.0... and its actually causing me to be teary-eyed. I am not sure if I am the only one who shares the experience from 1.0, or even some of your from 2.0-- but-- I am really saddened by this.

And maybe a part of me kinda feels kicked off to the side, if that sounds weird. Kind of curious if anyone else shares the same feelings to those that may also be aware.

EDIT:
So far, I stand a touch corrected after getting to the Calamity CS in the Ul'dah intro. Its seem so far, only the Ul'dah VOs were changed out, not the other nations. Though it does make me wonder if you start in another nation if they also have new VOs, but doubtful as of yet based on the Calamity CS.

Which I admit is alright, given Raub's voice was always a bit to harsh and I do like his new VA, but... still will miss the growly voice of the old.

Do most people hate Thordan XII as a character? If so, why?

I've noticed a trend on the XIV subreddit that really confuses me, but any time I ask this, I just get flamed with no real answers.Â Â
What's up with all the Thordan hate?Â Â

Basically, any time I talk about the redeeming qualities of any other villain we've had, its usually received very well and a lot of people agree with me, or at least discuss why they disagree. But the moment I mention that I liked Archbishop Thordan, or that his perspective had some merit to it, I get downvoted until my comment becomes hidden and not a single person replies. This has happened probably five or six times. I don't particularly care about the downvotes, I just really want answers!

You guys are, on average, a good bit more mature and level-headed, so I'll ask you: why do people get so upset about Thordan?Â Â

I realize this is a strange question, but I'm just frustrated because I really liked him and I just want to be able to talk about him without people getting madÂ

As the title implies, Hi! I have a rank 8 FC and an apartment that are collecting dust.Â I'm not asking anything for them. Considering just how important they are for RPs and organizing groups-- it would mean a lot if someone could put them to use instead!Â

For the apartment, I'll just warn to have the standard 500k required to purchase it when I drop my ownership! It's located in the Mist, 2nd Ward!Â Â The Apartment's been taken! Congrats, Ahkutai Angura!!Â

The Rank 8 FC was in preparation for some organization in story for my friend group's FC, but it wasn't needed after all!Â It has about 180K credits to start up, a namechange ready, and a logo design to play around with as you want! It hasn't been touched beyond a massive geardrop for seals. xD It does not have a house or airships.

Shoot me a PM here, or find me ingame on Nenia Reihnolh or Seitsuda Hironiwa!Â The FC is on a completely different alt, but I don't touch it. Lol

Prospective Player Questions

Hello! I'm a prospective player for FF14, primarily for the Roleplay community. I am an active Roleplayer on Warcraft for several now years and...honestly looking for another game to be my "Home away from home" so to speak. Anyhow, I've got some questions about the Roleplay community and environment of FF14 that I'd like to know before making any financial commitments to the game (IE; Subscribe).

1) How large/prevalent is the Roleplay community?Â

2)I've noticed there aren't Official Dedicated Roleplaying servers, but that isn't exactly uncommon for MMOs. Which server(s) are the defacto RP servers to play on?

3) What is the Walk-Up or Pick Up RP scene like?

4) (For those who know) Is there anything like MRP or TRP3 for FF14? Essentially user-addon Roleplay tools that are commonly used? (Also, in an unrelated note, are addons even allowed in the first place?)

5) What external resources would you advise to look into for character/lore questions to help 'get up to speed' with the game's lore so I don't accidentally trod all over it?

6) (For those who know, PT:2) Is there any "Server Canon" that might help to be aware of? -- Server Canon is a byproduct of a lot of Roleplayers (and I mean a lot) all have intertwining stories, where their guilds and communities are so closely connected that it results in what amounts to be unofficial "Server Canon".Â

New Player - What RP server to join?

I'm fairly new to FFXIV and I've been wanting to get into RP, however I understand that the primary RP server is on lockdown, so I'm a bit confused on what server to join! I live in the EU, but I don't mind being on american servers as long as I can find some Rp! Help would be appreciated,

Omega Server Closed?

Is Omega server closed for transfers? I'm looking to get off Balmung because it's so congested and I moved to vietnam so my ping is so high there. Are there any other rp servers that aren't as bad? Or is there a way to get on to Omega that I'm not seeing?
