Iâ€™m currently on Moogle and looking to change to a server with more RP opportunities. Anyone on Omega (as I see thatâ€™s the unofficial EU RP server) that can offer some insight into the amount of RP going on there?

I know the other â€œRP serversâ€ will probably have more people on but Iâ€™m looking to get into an EU specific one, but not sure if itâ€™s worth the cash.

Is it possible to RP as a Griffin Rider?

Hi! Been lurking for a while and finally had the nerve to post. My question is can you RP as a griffin rider? I just unlocked the trusted level of the anata beast tribe quest and it is revealed that there is a unit of griffin riders that help the ala mihgo resistance. I had a idea that my character could be a griffin rider for one of the GC (leaning heavily towards Twin Adder), Iâ€™m a fan of the black/white/silver gryphon series, thought about pulling from them for character development. My character is an Au Ra Raen and her name is Firis Windrunner.

I hope it is possible as itâ€™s the first inspiration Iâ€™ve had in a long time. Please let me know your thoughts. I have the griffin mount from the HW expansion so that is a step in the right direction!

Need Help Getting into FFXIV RP

I'm an American who got dragged into FFXIV by some Euro friends last year a couple months after Louisoix was created and quickly fell in love with the game. I'm now about to finish up Stormblood any day now and want to branch out into RP.

What's a good World (either in NA or EU) for RP and what's the best way to start out and learn the ropes?

I apologize if this is in the wrong spot. I don't know my way around this place very well.

I come here to ask for advice on how to transition well intoÂ FFXIV roleplayingÂ I've been roleplaying for a couple years, but it was always entirely text based where I could play multiple characters and do whatever is necessary to advance the plot. Obviously, I can't do this in FFXIV.

I've been rping with someone for about a week and a half now, and I can tell it's going to be stale soon. What can I do to make sure things stay fun? I know there's only so many times we can walk around the lavender beds/go to the beach/spend a day at the gold saucer.

To top it off, it's hard to find people who RP on my serverÂ (I'm sure they're there, I just don't know where to look,)Â and I'm unfamiliar with any "unwritten rules" that FFXIV roleplaying may or may not have.

Seeking any and all advice on how to improve my roleplaying, and how to keep roleplay sessions fresh. Also maybe a more experienced roleplayer to take me under their wing, so I have someone to PM all my stupid questions too.

So first question should be where i can start on the server and on the rp community !! Is there any rp communites on those servers or at any server in Chaos? Also is there any requirements? I was wondering, how many people have characters who are youths? perhaps younger then say.. 21? Like teens and such. And is there A LS for them? because i have a character who is a youth and well... youths need other youths to loiter around with... and be 'Damn kids' for want of a better term

There is a similar thread about this subject but it was from half a year ago so I decided to start a new one.

I'd like to hear people's thoughts on something I've been struggling with since I started RPing in MMO's.Â I have been roleplaying for many years on different mediums, although it's been quite a while since I've been an active part of any kind of RP due to a lack of time and people to do it with, and it's always been fine and dandy until I started venturing into in-game RP.

I'm the type of MMO player who sees their character as themselves rather than something they control, so when I want to RP in-game I want to immerse myself in the world and the lore and for the most part my character is speaking and acting as I would and with that there is a bit of blur between IC and OOC which I thoroughly enjoy.Â This goes against what has become the norm of RP (at least from my perspective because I seem to be unique in that I have been part of multiple RP's where that type of RP was common in the communities I have been part of) where players are basically authors and the characters they play are completely separate entities from themselves that they develop on paper ahead of time and plan scenes for and have tumblrs for.Â While I don't see anything wrong with this type of RP and practice some of it as it is a basic part of roleplay, I don't see my character as some type of puppet I manipulate since my character is basically me.

So my question is: what is this type of RP called so I can find like minded peopleÂ who would like to do things like quests and dungeons ICly?Â Or am I in the wrong business altogether? ^^;;

How does one roleplay as a burglar?

I've asked this question to myself, many times. But how exactly do you roleplay as a burglar that breaks in and steals a prize possession? Because letting someone know that you stole X thing kinda defeats the entire purpose. I mean this like /em took Player's trophy and placed it in her bag without being seen isn't really what I call thieving. So how do you actually roleplay as a thief or a burglar?

More over, I guess you can just go into another person's mansion and steal an item from there but how will they know it's missing?

First off, I just want to personally say Happy New Year to everyone, and hope so far it has been great for you, as well as your experience playing FFXIV.

I have recently come back from a short hiatus I took on Mateus, trying to focus on family/college before plunging my toes back into the game once more. Knowing the Quicksand has been the go-to place for RP, I decided to jump on in and get back into the playing field. Unfortunately, upon my first experience back at Mateus, I noticed... Well, trolls.Â

Now mind you, trolls during Open RP is going to happen to matter where you go: Any and every RPer knows that once they encounter it during their journey through the RP world. Sadly, new members within the Mateus Community may not necessarily know that, or may be new to the community in general and want a feel for the server before they dedicate themselves to it. Now, if it were a stray troll or two, it's not really that big of a deal: Normal stuff. You can typically keep it from tarnishing the RP immersion. But recently since coming back, I have noticed the Quicksand has been just *littered* with trolls, even seeming to be more trolls than RPers.

Daily. Non-stop. Friends and FC mates sending me messages concerned and frankly annoyed by how bad it has gotten. A lot of my friends are new, and are honestly very disheartened by the community they are experiencing firsthand, and not the community we **want** to share to them.

That's where my concern and desire for change kicked in.Â

Quicksand has always been known as the central RP hub for FFXIV RP, Transferring across multiple servers as a hotspot for walk-up RP. I have enjoyed the crazy and memorable experiences in there, and it will always have a place in my heart, but I honestly feel for Mateus, it is time for us to branch off into new waters, and see more of what the world has to offer.

Well, what's the plan?

Upon first thinking of this problem, my first thought was Well, how the hell are we gonna come up with a hub?

What drives people to go to a location to RP? Is it the sights? Is it the playability with RP? Is it the nostalgia you get from spending countless hours grinding with your friends?

Then I realized: It's all of that.

It's the experiences. It's experiencing that location for the first time. It's searching every nook and cranny that spot had to offer. It's learning that within that place, you can create stories beyond your wildest dreams. It's going through that area in the past, remembering all the memories you shared with others.

Why not giveÂ people that experience? Give people that feeling of finding a place to call their sanctuary?Â

My idea? I want to gather a list of RP places that could be the new potential Hub, centralized around the theme "New player friendly." Reason being, I want both new and old RPers to be able to come to this spot and have a great time, and hopefully significantly lower the troll population with this project. Quicksand has always been known as the go-to spot, so naturally trolls knew where to go. We can never truly eliminate the trolls, but we can at least find a place where they would have to actively search for us, which should help the situation tremendously.

With this list compiled, I would then have it to where each week or two, there would be RP events specifically revolved around that place. So for example, if we had chosen Wolves' Den as a choice, an RP event could be a fighting tournament with PVE RP DUELS. Which honestly, would be pretty badass.

After all the fun is had and all the events have ended, we come to the time to reflect and vote on what one stuck near and dear to our hearts the most. After a semi-final and final vote, we would have our winner! Ding ding!Â

At the end of the day, we all are a community. We grow with one another, learn with one another, and share with one another. Without your help, none of this can happen. I am only person, and this project needs A lot of willing people who want to find a new place where we can promote a more friendly and positive-energy environment than the one that sadly our Quicksand has become.

But hey! New Year, New Change!Â

I need people who want to brainstorm places, people whom want to help plan events for each place that is presented, give people within the community a fun challenge to see what they can come up with for the area that is chosen for testing. I need people who are passionate about RP, who want change and are eager to get more RP engaged within our community.Â

How bulletproof are you?

So, obviously in-game we're pretty durable. Bullets are a mild annoyance on the same level of getting stabbed in the face, hit by magic lightning, or being set aflame. But how much of that carries over into RP/lore?

I could see magic users as having a pretty decent excuse - Protect spells and other barriers could be justified as blocking a gunshot or two, deflecting a sword swing, and so forth.

And we also have proven evidence that aether is imbued into our clothing and armour the more we use it. So while it looks like we're wearing a flimsy robe, it could offer much more protection than it would seem.

Essentially, how durable do you treat your character in terms of being wounded or incapacitated, either during battle or other things? Would a single bullet or stab wound ruin your day?

I'm an old nerd, with old needy rp origins, and as I was ruffling through some old books I had from my tween years I came across my Warrior cat series. This brought memorie's of my firstÂ rp theme I started online and got me thinking. Is there warrior themed ffxiv Miqote tribes. Like with
A main leaderÂ
Deputy
Healer who is banned from having kids
Their apprenticeÂ
Then have the members. With elders and kits included.Â
Maybe more ff lore is worked in as far as names go or something if a blend but the outlines similar.
