II. RP Style 
  • Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy):
  • Medium to Light, prefer medium and in depth.  More a "slice of life" RPer than "huge overarching major plots".  Ras, after all, is not a "hero" per se.  He'd more likely be a merchant.  I am by nature a "heavy" RPer, but time wise?  More realistic to say Medium with times that are heavier.

    Style wise I tend towards para posting, though I try to adjust to what people around me are doing.  I've been doing a lot of RP in other formats of late, that have gotten me "used" to doing multi para posts, which can be a challenge to toss out quickly in FFXIV!  

  • Views on RP combat and injuries:
  • Perfectly willing to take injuries, recovery time varies.  Magic and magical healing are a thing after all, but at the same time, injuries should mean something.  I often Rp that as "the major injury is healed, but there are lingering effects like exhaustion, weakness, etc".

    Combat wise, I tend to prefer free form, but if it becomes apparent that someone is..less than equal in such writing, I will often default to dice or something else in further encounters.

    Death, I rarely do, but it has been known to happen, especially if I am retiring a character.

  • Views on IC romance:
  • One of my personal favorites.  A well written romance can be amazing RP, but it is also a bit rare to find.  I keep a very fine line between IC and OOC there, and over the years have found some people do not, so am a bit picky on such things.  As far as the more mature elements of such RP, again, quite fine with them, but they are there to be a part of, or a spice to the story, NOT the whole purpose of the story...  OOC and IC are VERY fine lines here and hints of crossover are verboten!  I've made excellent friends on OOC levels, whom my characters have had as lovers or been married to, but there is a line it does not go past.  My character is not me, after all!

  • Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc):
  • Also quite fun!  If by some odd chance someone was to want to RP one of his sisters, and they seemed a good match personality wise for RP?  Sure!  And friends, rivals, etc?  The social connections are what RP is all about, and you can't have that without having IC connections!

  • Views on lore:
  • I am still learning much of the lore, but try to keep close to it.  I am not a strict stickler for it, by any means, but if someone says they are a half moogle?  We're probably not going to click in RP styles.  

  • Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc):
  • If I have my RP tag on, /say is IC.  Otherwise, I am generally OOC questing and such, though if I am at home, or doing things with the Company, may well be IC!   I try to keep OOC into brackets though, or tells.  Linkshells, if they are meant to be IC, are an excellent resource if used sparingly.  Tells can serve a similar function, again, used sparingly.

At long last smallyoung Au Ra was born under the Ruby Sea, born to a young couple who've always feared the world above. While individual's celebrated under the water, her existence to the world was yet to be seen or known. Bellow the tides a celebration was held, however, from above, the tides just slowly and gently caressed the shores of Kugane and the East Othard coastline. It was in this place that she would mark her journey, and that her destiny would take place that no other has seen. 
 
Appearance:
Ayameis quite small for her age, she's just at 5'0". Being so small, and being a “Runt” Of Au Ra, she learned to be quite agile and fast. Ayame has fine pink hair, most of them continue to say that her hair resembles the blossoms off the trees around spring time. She has ocean green eyes, while under water they help camouflage her, however, above water it is one of her most outstanding features. She has coral white horns and tail, along with scales that are placed on her body, although they appear to have a scale like appearance, they still have a silk like texture to them. Her tail is long and slender with a fork in the bottom.

Personality:
Ayameis quite quiet and to herself a majority of the time. She is skeptical around other races other than Raen Au Ra. However, despite her skepticism, bread by her parents, she has a longing to explore the world and wanting to learn as much as she possibly can.
Herlikes include food, water, exploring, and animals. Her dislikes include mean individual’s, lazy individuals, but all around she tries to find the best in all situations. She likes to compare herself to a flower in the wind- (although born underwater, she has a fascination with nature above & bellow the sea).   
Job:
Miko
Although she is bornunder the sea, the small Raen always had a special ability as to see and predict with the night sky. That being said, she had learned to manipulate the stars and read them. Over some time, the temple had recognized her abilities where they took her under their wing and trained her, educated her, and cultured her.

As a Miko (Asian Priestess) she performs cleansings to the temple, she entertains those who come, she is to wear a traditional garb, along with using her abilities to raise money for temple upkeeps.  

Living and being a Miko, all her necessities are provided by the temple, and the individual’s there are very caring and deer. She lives a peaceful sanctioned life that many wishes to have. Being a part of the temple, also means she is just bellow the Ruby Princess. She takes the title with great pride and honor, especially for her family.

Rp Load: I do medium to heavy, I often like to RP as I play the game, I believe that's the best way to get most experience. (I work full time as a nurse, I RP on discord when I am unavailable in game!) 
Combat RP: I LOVE THIS! Totally get into the game! Smile But I also like the injuries to be somewhat realistic, if you say your character has a broken leg...then expect that thing to be broken until 6-8 weeks have passed in game! (or if you ffw through it ahaha) 
Linkshell : Not yet, but hoping to create once I get a good amount of friends who like to RP Smile

While I would love to explore and develop my weak points further, I'm still not entirely comfortable with writing long and drawn out combat scenes at the moment, but I'm not close-minded about it either and actually enjoy the tension combat and injuries bring.
 ➥     VIEWS ON ROMANCE:   God yes. Especially with how filled with tension this world is? Of course I want some romance for my character! Not only just the mutual types of romance, I adore writing strained or one-sided relationships, even those that are extremely unhealthy and potentially dangerous. It's fun teetering the line between what's good and bad, and having our characters decide for themselves.
 ➥     VIEWS ON NON-ROMANCE:   I'm equally as in love with non-romance as I am with romance. It's a very important aspect in everyone's lives to maintain friendships or to cut them, it's equally as important with familial ties as well. I'm 100% game.

  • To touch one's or someone's beads is considered bad luck to everyone involved, whether you are an Irmegiin or not.
  • Most Irmegiin gher have a horseshoe hanging in a 'U' shape above their door on the inside. It's meant to hold all the good luck inside that gher.
  • Having that horseshoe upside down is bad luck, as it 'spills out' all of the good luck in that gher.
  • If you whistle indoors, it will bring bad luck to that place.
  • It's bad luck to see silverware crossed over each other.
On Brooms/Sweeping:
  • Do not lean a broom against a bed. An evil spirit will cast a curse on that bed.
  • If someone is sweeping the floor, and sweeps over your feet, you'll never be married.
  • To sweep the dust of of your gher is to sweep out your good luck.
On Sneezing:
  • Sneezing on the day in the middle of the week is sure to bring you news. Good news if you were facing North or East, but bad news if you were facing South or West.
  • It's good luck to sneeze three times before breakfast.
  • If you feel like you have to sneeze and can't, it means someone loves you, but doesn't dare tell.
On Hair:
  • Cutting your hair on the first day of the week was meant for good health, on the second day was meant for wealth, on the third day was meant for news, the fourth day was meant for 'new shoes' (Or an item of interest), the sixth day was meant you'd see your true love tomorrow. Cutting your hair on the fifth or seventh day was considered bad luck.
On Ladybirds:
  • Never kill a ladybird, because doing so will bring bad luck.
  • If a ladybird lands on you, it's good luck. Count the spots to see how many months until a good event happens for you.
  • If  ladybird crawls over an unwed woman's hand, she'll be married within the year.
On Sex/Pregnancy:
  • Sex during an eclipse will lead to unhealthy and mutated children.
  • Pregnant women shouldn't go outside during an eclipse, or their baby will be born blind.
  • If a pregnant woman touches her belly during an eclipse, her baby is sure to be born with a birthmark.
  • An expecting mother that has her stomach rubbed too much, by her or others, may produce a spoiled child.
  • A mother can affect the gender of her baby by eating certain foods a week before conception. Carrots, lettuce, or mushrooms for a boy, and fish or meat for a girl.
  • The gender of the baby can be predicted by holding a needle or wedding band suspended by a strand of the mother's hair over her palm. If it swings in an oval, it will be  girl. If it swings in a line, it will be a boy.
  • If a mother's feet are colder when she's pregnant, she'll have a boy. If it's warmer, she'll have a girl.
  • If a mother wears a necklace while pregnant, the umbilical cord will get wrapped around the baby's neck.
  • If the mother has heartburn a lot while pregnant, the baby will be born with a lot of hair.

I would also like to note that I don't like one-liners, outside of the /say chat and playful RP. But again, being an amateur MMORPG roleplayer here, I'm more than willing to experiment with different styles. I do love development and creative prose, however, i'm furthermore here for the fun involved.

      I'm... indifferent to it? When it comes to roleplay i'm completely plot-driven and i'll practically go along with the flow so long as it's sensible. I, unfortunately, don't know much about how systems work here though. So please, if you're a kind soul, feel free to enlighten me.

      I don't like finals, so yes! I'm down for any kind of romantic plot you have in mind - be it serious or not. And though this should go without saying - I will not smut/ship/do romance-esque plots with a player and/or character below the age of eighteen.

      Friends and enemies are just as invigorating as romantic relationships are, if not more exciting. I'm open to everything here, regardless of the character. (Family tied relationships should obviously be brought up to me first, however!)

      I love the FF series, but I can't say i'm going to be 100% accurate 24/7. I have done a good amount of research and I will continue trying to stay close to the loremaker's visions. But if one of us messes up, i'm not going to get mad. I feel like in these situations it should be like a trial and error - you can only improve from the help of others. So basically, as long as you're not a completely lore-breaking entity... then i'm fine. Even then, i'm not going to turn someone down just because their style steps out of the boundaries. If you respect and love your character, then so will I.

    • Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc):
      Since i'm still technically new, honestly i'm not sure? I'm not in any LS or FCs anymore so if any new friends want to teach a newcomer I would love that. I should be open with most options, though - whether it's in-game, discord, skype, google docs, etc.

I won’t be writing novels or anything, but I want something there to play with. I’m accustomed to forum RP (a.k.a. paragraph/long form) so yeah. That. I’m completely used to posts going up whenever we get around to them (as opposed to being on at the same time and updating an RP in real time). \o/

  • Views on RP combat and injuries:
    I don’t mind these as long as they’re planned and agreed upon in advance, but writing combat isn’t my favorite thing. It can really slow down the pace of a plot. I understand it’s necessary so we’d have to figure out a system that works (i.e. dice rolls, etc.)

  • Views on IC romance:
    I love shipping! It’s self indulgent, yes, but mostly, it can really help develop a character and bring them together. 

  • Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc):
    Platonic relationships are just as important as romantic ones! Everyone needs some good friends! \o/

  • Views on lore:
    I try to follow lore as closely as I can, but ultimately, if things are somewhat inaccurate or exaggerated, I either won’t notice or won’t care too much. As long as we both try as hard as we can to remain accurate to the lore, that’s good enough for me. Basically, no “I’m a long lost princess of an island nation” stuff lol

    Seeing as how 90% of people here are on Mateus and Balmung, I’d say the likelihood of chat ever being a thing is nonexistent. I’m not really used to chat RP anyway. As stated before, I honed my writing on forums and Google Docs. Honestly, chat would feel very confining lol

Profession: Dotharl is LIFE (he works as S’kheler’s bodyguard)
Brief Description:

Looming at 7’1 with a meter and a half long tail that he has capped with sharp steel, a broad chest and biceps as big as S’kheler’s thigh, Valdamar looks absurd in just about any setting that isn’t the steppes.
A flat, black regard sits in a lean and angular face that might have been handsome once but is now a roadmap of scars. He moves like a half-tamed coeurl subtly testing the strength of its tethers.

Valdamar is told that when he was born, he arrived with a scowl. It remains a mystery to the tribe how a man who had been so boisterous and jolly in life could come back as such an intense and stone-faced little boy. And whilst Valdamar doesn’t dispute his soul, he defiantly refuses to have fun like his past self.

Something happened to Valdamar on the steppes that, through an unfortunate chain of events, lead to his being held in the illegal fighting pits of Limosa. It’s from here that S’kheler rescued him. S’kheler tries to keep him on a short leash and out of the jail.

His desire to return home has reached a feverish pitch for reasons he is uncomfortable explaining.

Brief Description:

Looming at 7’1 with a meter and a half long tail that he has capped with sharp steel, a broad chest and biceps as big as S’kheler’s thigh, Valdamar looks absurd in just about any setting that isn’t the steppes.
A flat, black regard sits in a lean and angular face that might have been handsome once but is now a roadmap of scars. He moves like a half-tamed coeurl subtly testing the strength of its tethers.

Valdamar is told that when he was born, he arrived with a scowl. It remains a mystery to the tribe how a man who had been so boisterous and jolly in life could come back as such an intense and stone-faced little boy. And whilst Valdamar doesn’t dispute his soul, he defiantly refuses to have fun like his past self.

Something happened to Valdamar on the steppes that, through an unfortunate chain of events, lead to his being held in the illegal fighting pits of Limosa. It’s from here that S’kheler rescued him. S’kheler tries to keep him on a short leash and out of the jail.

His desire to return home has reached a feverish pitch for reasons he is uncomfortable explaining.
