I thought it would be fun to share our characters singing and speaking voices! I've always been into voice acting so I love to think who would play my character's voice ^^

My Xaela, Xiou Ren's voice is based off Marceline from Adventure time.Â

Also since her personality and backstory was based off Anya from Anastasia, I can see her singing voice be Christy Altomare from the Broadway version of Anastasia!Â I wrote her backstory around this song, so this would be a perfect song for Xiou to sing as well.

I was being a responsible adult and perusing some of the finer classic disney films with my flatmates a few days back in a drunken stupor, and the thought crossed my mind, which RPC characters would be who if they were in the disney universe.Â
You people can't fool me, I know we've all thought this at some point.

I'll get the ball rolling to see if this takes off or not.

I thought of this the other day, thinking it might help people give their characters some depth, perhaps some questions asked may have not been something the creator of said character never thought of before. The questions can only be three or less in number, as to give others a chance to ask, and be answered.Â Examples: "What is your favorite color, what is your favorite place to visit in Eorzea, what are your Eorzean political views?"

You can post your characters on a list, or just pick one main character if you like. The point of this thread is to pick at the creator's mind so they can better understand their character. It is preferred the questions to be asked OOC.

I'd like questions for me to be asked for my character Lucius Ignatius. He has a wiki, if anyone would like to look over it before asking.

Turn your main RP char into an NPC

So I have always had this fun thought of treating my character as if he was it's own in the universe and what purpose to serve in it. Then I think about if I was ever offered that chance to mold that character to be a real NPC, possibly relevant, I then think... Would I do it? I'm curious to hear what your thoughts are or would be if you went through.

I think if I was offered, I would deny because if they use my character as an NPC.... it would feel like I wouldn't be that character anymore as my own. Sure I could go around RP'ing based off the NPC's creation like how we have people RP as NPC's, but it wouldn't feel like you're quite unique anymore I guess is my thought about it.

If I was to accept though... Considering his attire, I would want him apart of the red mage quest line I think. Perhaps as an old friend or someone as knowledgeable as the mentor to discuss with. Most job quests seem to love the concept of the warrior being the one and only of that job for the most part or using some class/job that's been long since abandoned. Exclusions of course applying to ninjas, summoners, warriors, etc. Would love to see him as an NPC that just helps breathe population into the world as something that exists outside of special snowflakes like job mentors. Like X'ruhn's endeavors to spread the wisdom of red magic succeeding to a point where you start to see other NPC's actually as red mages. Either this or I'd love to see him as an NPC on random ARR maps with a pen and paper out, taking notes. Maybe spawning on % chances randomly, just to make it look as though he travels around studying often, nothing major, just a side no-name character that exists solely to show the life of someone who studies and has a passion for learning.

Another more teasing one... I could imagine Valic outside the Scholasticate's door asking to get in, only being told he can't come in lol. No particular reason why, just would love to see him trying to get into somewhere with a vast assortment of knowledge only to be denied it so painfully xD.

What would you do if you could, and if you could... would you? Any particular dialogue they would say or how they would interact?

Bored and curious to know if one of the rings from the DC Universe/Green Lantern Canon came to Eorzea and to your character which one of the rings would your character have?

Rules are simple!

1. Post an accurate screenie of the poster's above dare using your character. Can't dare someone unless you fulfill the dare .(Be creative, but don't cheat like someone says to hug Garuda and then get a summoner's pet Garuda to hug).

2. Dare the following poster to do something in a certain place with a certain enemy, NPC, or etc with certain clothes on or any variation of these. No limits(within reason).

3. Try to be reasonable. Like not requesting someone to use an emote from the mog station, a skill that doesn't exist after SB, hacks, or something from years ago that no one can obtain anymore.

4. This isn't a rule but it'd be cool if we keep the requests as current dares than sceenshots we've already taken in the past. Make it a quest to complete someone's dare in game sorta thing. (i.e. someone dares you to wave at Alexander, and you already have a screen of it from months ago rather than going in game now to wave at Alexander currently.)

I'll start us off easy. Say someone dared me to get a shot of me frozen in mid air during Shiva's limit break.

I dare.... the next poster to get a close up shot of them using /shrug or /huh while the primal Ifrit is in the air with the big fireball attack. Facing the camera :p.

P.S. Unless specifically requested, having UI hud up or not doesn't matter so long as you're fulfilling the dare.

Recently, I did have a fun writing exercise recently, which I don't really see often here...probably because it's actually hard, but HEY.

100 Words Prompts.

Basically, you pick a theme, and you must make a self contained story of your character or something within this theme, trying to mesh as much characterization as possible.

MIGHT AS WELL START.

Formats are written in Underline before the story, and doesn't count to the overrall word count; try to think of a simple format, and develop from there, going straight to Death would be a little on the nose wouldn't it?

Birdgazing.

Ququki gets down from her chocobo, after travelling across the hell that is the Burning Wall. She truly liked the place, besides giving her a lot of headaches, and today is a special day; birdwatching day, and may Nald'Thal just drag her to their halls if she will skip her routine, specially on a place fairly special for her.

Gazing at the tombstone at her destination , sighing, she lays against it, bringing her small drawing booklet, and starts looking around, smile on her face; marked on the rock of the memorial, a name.

"Flynt Reddard. Hope it was worth it."

I wonder if this prompt has been done before.I can't find it. So! We're going to do this new. Basically, if you had to describe your character with the traits of three existing fictional characters, who would they be and why? I've attached a handy little equation frame you can use, if you'd like.

I picked these ones for Wendy.

Starfire- Friendly, warm, nice, a little air headed.

Jess- If you've ever met Wendy, this should speak for itself. She is out of her mind, and also sings.

Lynn Minmay- Wendy is based off a macross songstress, so it seems fitting to use the first. Also she works part time at a bakery. Not exactly a chinese restaurant, but close enough.

So I've seen a few people do this already so I figured I'd make it into a thread. All you need to do is go into character creation, create your character's parents and take a screenshot! And then if you want, write a little blurb about them. I understand that maybe they were raised by another family member or someone completely different and are more important to their story. If you'd rather create them instead, then go ahead. It's all for shits and giggles, I'll go first.Â

Your Character in an RPG Setting

Okay, picture this, folks!

The world of FFXIV is in fact a classic/Japanese RPG title and your character is a part of it.
Explain what role your character would serve within the traditionally stereotype setting of your RPG world. Each title's timeline would be based on each of the patches, starting with 1.0, Realm Reborn and finally Heavensward. Would they be a minor character, a citizen with looping text prompts, or even a major character? Would they transform over time?

For mine, it would be like this!

1.0: Eses would be a young and minor merchant character in one of the main cities, selling low-level trinkets and items for the player before tackling the starting zone. The player's party would meet several of the Fafa family, who look remarkably resemblant of this merchant, and each serve their own minor or comical purpose with no real impact on the story other than a minor slice of lore that players could follow over time for the fun of it.

Realm Reborn:Â Eses would receive an upgrade in importance, having gone on a journey of self-discovery, she develops into a stronger individual, looking to be one of the player's starting party members with an all-round stat system focused around strong individual spear attacks, Jumps, stuns, DoTs and debuffs, but also a rather solid natural defense, and an allowance for mail/character specific plate. She would be sorely lacking in healing or magical abilities, making her a mostly damage-focused character which would be suited towards more simplistic playstyles, or prone to being swapped out for more buff-oriented characters, tank builds or the inevitable cheese mechanic party for certain bosses. Her story development would be less about her interactions with potential antagonists and more about overcoming self-doubt and becoming stronger for their friends and loved ones. If they are in the party when meeting their cameo relatives, a special dialogue will be triggered each time.

Heavensward:Â Eses would be a returning party member, with improved mechanics such as iframes, rally buffs and powerful charged attacks to deal with the scaling difficulty as well as improving on the complexity of her playstyle. Her story would revolve around veterancy and realising her interactions in the past become a part of her as she grows older, but must remember to carve a path for the next generation of young heroes, looking to set an example for the younger members of the party by serving as a mentor, and tutorial character at the start of the game. An optional character quest would reveal a council of Fafa's, which would involve a collaboration of small, irritating cat people gathered in a circle discussing family politics. This serves little purpose to the story itself, but would give Eses a character-specific trinket which serves well during endgame content at the end.

So then, what would your character be in such a setting?

This is what I got when I took it as purely Ben: (Campaigner (ENFP-a) The Campaigner personality is a true free spirit. They are often the life of the party, but unlike types in the Explorer Role group, Campaigners are less interested in the sheer excitement and pleasure of the moment than they are in enjoying the social and emotional connections they make with others. Charming, independent, energetic and compassionate, the 7% of the population that they comprise can certainly be felt in any crowd.

Other Campaigners you may know: Robin Williams/Wash from "Firefly"/Robert Downey Jr, and my favorite on the list, Willy Wonka).
