The Duty Finder.
THE DUTY. FINDER.

I know this thing is made of spite and hatred because it actively fails to perform the function listed in its very name. And not just for DPS. I've had situations where I've been waiting up to 15-45 minutes as a TANK just to get in an instance.

Burning hatred for this piece of engineering may vary, depending on what it is that warrants the dungeon crawl.

I find that the current things making this a nightmare-fueled engine of misery, at least for me, are the Animus tomes. However, I am well aware it will only get worse from there, so don't lecture me.

Ah man. Jade Star from the SA LP forums did this multi-hour long marathon of X-COM Ironman and had this HUGE list of people that died to all sorts of things (Including, I think, 16 different Skippies). My personal favorite - and a bit he clipped out for itself on Twitch.tv, which is unfortunately not mirrored on YouTube - was when an alien came out of the downed UFO and a readied action soldier named Hitler fired his rocket and blew up, like four people.

... Which was immediately followed with "OH MY GOD, HITLER, WHY!?"

You really just have to watch it to feel the passion.

Any action/actionRPG style game that won't let me fully customize my keyboard controls to what I'm more comfortable with. I am -not- a good player. I'm pretty fucking terrible actually. And having SHIFT to sprint in one game. But crouch in another. And then walk in yet another without the option of letting me equalize them? Is shit.

I -desperately- want to play Witcher 2. But those keyboard controls. I just can't get them. I die on the fight tutorial on easy. It's fucking depressing. And because it's only got partial controller support it of course it means giving up. Because the only controller that will work is the Xbox controller I do not have. So it sits in my steam library and mocks me.

After consideration I thought of one.

Fire Emblem 6: I absolutely get screwed RNG wise.

I've missed attacks with a 98 percent chance of success and been struck by enemy attacks with only 20 or less percent success rate.

Quite enfuriating, but one should never be so comfortable with chance.

FE6 is very, very, very RNG dependent.

Case in point, RNG made my Rutger a god. High STR, max SKL and SPD, and high LCK. Can you say, "Swordmaster double-critting and therefore one-shotting everything with Armorslayer, Killing Edge, and Wo Dao" ? Because I can.

His stat growths are disgusting, yes, but I liked that about him. He was a more realistic lord than most of the more recent ones. Like, seriously. Historically speaking, you do not put your noble/lord/king/whatever on the front lines. They're usually not very good, and even when they are, they are too valuable to lose. A big part of your defensive strategy should boil down to "protect the guy who's championing our cause and funding our army".

Contrast Ike, who goes rolling into combat and flattens everything because he is a badass mofo who don't need no fodder. >_>

He is. And yet they left him out of Smash. AGAIN. *rages*

oh geez why the fuck would anyone subject themselves to having 5 just frames in one combo on a middling character Sad

(Akira players in DoA5 I guess but still)

I live that life too,
instant knee lift juggles ruin my life in VF5

The allure of looking cool. I suffer from it in ever game I play. :[

RE: This Game Hates Me! - ChewableMorphine - 03-23-2015

Au contraire, this game's RNG adores me. Made two mil the other night flat out playing dice calling odds or evens. I can tell you that any other JRPG (namely Wild ARMs) has a hardon for spamming Random Encounters up my ass when trying to clear a dungeon. XIV does me great deals of good luck, but god damn I get blasted in anything else.

RE: This Game Hates Me! - Kellach Woods - 03-23-2015

KNEE~ in VF5 is annoying, but you don't need to land FIVE-SIX IN A FUCKING ROW like in DoA5.

Then again what do I know I'm all about the BURNING HAMMER life and I play Mila in DoA.

Well there's a pair of games that come to mind, but any player of any souls game knows. It's not it's possibly working against you. It is. So those don't count.

For me, Shooters are my biggest offenders. I always que up into a map also thinking. "Please not this map, please not this map. Or at last a map that isn't wide open."

I not only will get the map I hate but right after I will get a streak of 4 wide opens maps I swear.

RE: This Game Hates Me! - Harmonixer - 03-28-2015

Currently, I am under the belief that Monster Hunter has collected the souls of past successful hunts and used them to fuel the relentless hate I am experiencing lately. For some strange reason, it's like all of my armors ALWAYS have -10 Sense and large monsters stop all their attacks upon me entering the map.

Many of my fellow hunters have witnessed this and it's sort of a running joke now. We're talking constant, constant assaults from monsters. They stick to me like it's their sole purpose. We've got them stuck on rocks trying to chase me down exclusively. Silencers, Hunting Bows, nothing seems to keep this from happening and it's not like I'm gemmed to get aggro. But if I used a Hunting Horn? They never even notice me, it's really strange.

Perhaps it's some kind of fucked up balancing act, since I'm very fortunate with drops this version, when I haven't been in previous entries. It's been my favorite entry, but it's really frustrating to experience sometimes.

Also, DKingdom is a foul, hateful game. I watched a fistfight almost start. Zero exaggeration. Everyone went home that night really sour. We laugh about it, a little now. But at the time? I was very worried about friendships. We've never played it again.
