RE: Before the Fall Vs. You [Major spoilers] - V'aleera - 03-31-2015

Literally everything that has occurred will only validate V'aleera's terrible opinion of Ul'dah and encourage her to continue telling her Ul'dahn contacts what a rat's nest they live in.

True, but it's my rats nest, and by god I'm not going to abandon it so that the Monetarists are unopposed!

*ahem* my apologies.... Tongue

RE: Before the Fall Vs. You [Major spoilers] - thesunalsorises - 03-31-2015

There's a chance that Ophelie, being a courtesan in Ul'dah and all, might catch wind of the rumors and such. Foreign politics is something she would rather not be involved in, so if anything seems even the slightest bit off in Ul'dah she probably would just pack her bags and be prepared to flee the moment something goes wrong. This is of course assuming she hears rumors and whatnot.

RE: Before the Fall Vs. You [Major spoilers] - Maril - 03-31-2015

As I understood it, the way the events went down it would not have been impossible for someone to notice that something was up, and we do have some hints at that the masses ruffled by the news of the Sultana's death. But that said, I would imagine that is all the masses would be told - that she is dead, and from there on I would presume that most of the long-time citizens of Ul'dah would be able to figure out that the Syndicate would have the most power now. I heavily doubt the regular citizens category that my characters belong to would catch any wind of it being a murder, who might be behind it and all that happened at the celebration.

So how it'll likely affect me (and my FC), is that eventually (not for a while yet because spoilers) we'll find out that the sultanate is dead. Nailah would likely pin up a note about it in their house, and then otherwise talk to people about it. I can imagine she might encourage people to be more careful of what they talk about whilst in Ul'dah, and especially saying anything bad about the syndicate (Since they seem to have a habit of killing people left right and center). She herself would be more careful about going there in general, but she wouldn't change her habits as per se.

In terms of the Coerthas situation, when news breaks that the war on the dragons have reached there, Nailah is likely to let her people know to be careful when taking jobs and generally going to the area, encouraging them to let her know and then also keep in touch so that she might know to send a search party if contact doesn't get kept. Things in that line of thinking. And for what it's worth, she'd personally stay the heck away from the place. Dragonfighting is not for her.

RE: Before the Fall Vs. You [Major spoilers] - Kellach Woods - 03-31-2015

Unless someone tells IC that the Sultana is dead, Kellach has absolutely no way of actually knowing.

Unfortunately for him, people have a tendency to tell him sensitive information that he should not be knowing.

As to why he would go to Coerthas... who can say? Kellach's mind works in very mysterious ways.

RE: Before the Fall Vs. You [Major spoilers] - Seriphyn - 04-01-2015

The Sultana is not dead as far as the masses are concerned. If you ask how fare the Sultansworn as a lvl50 PLD and have completed 2.55, he says this at the end of his usual spiel.

"There have been other tales told in recent days, of course, but no one with an onze of common sense pays them any heed. If Her Grace were not convalsecing from illness, she would surely put an end to this madness. Alas, in her absence, the Monetarists are firmly in control..."

ALSO...after asking "Who are the Monetarists?" he says...

"After everything that has happened, you ask me this? You should know full well that the Monetarists are a faction within the Syndicate - the organization which wields greater influence than the sultana herself. Their grip on power has never been stronger, now that General Raubahn has been confined to the Marasaja Pit for his crimes at the royal banquet. I fear that until the sultana recovers from her illness, Lord Lolorito and his minions will face little opposition. Yet it may be some time before that comes to pass. Her condition is so serious that even I have been denied an audience..."

Gin will be avoiding Ul'dah as if it is on fire.

Rumors of it have spread as far as gridania and with her already being a refugee and Doman - it does not bode well for her to even be in the city state. She is absolutely terrified, she thought someone of that prestige would not be taken down with a guard as mighty as the flames leader.

RE: Before the Fall Vs. You [Major spoilers] - Duskwright - 04-01-2015

Amh'ra would've overheard mention of something about the Sultana from passer-bys in the Market Ward, while also noticing some rather strange behavior. Chances are he won't stay in Ul'dah for long until the dust settles.

This.

The first thing I did after finishing the story was look around for NPCs with unique reactions and the PLD questgiver stood out with that information. As far as RP is concerned the Sultana is ill, Raubahn is a murderer, and the Monetarists are in control.

When this happened I imagined Evangeline as the actual warrior of light. She would be swinging Nanamo around the room in joy

Of course... everyone would believe that she killed Nanamo as well.

RE: Before the Fall Vs. You [Major spoilers] - Aduu Avagnar - 04-01-2015

There is an NPC who states that there are increased Soldiers on the Street as well. Nervous Nanny I believe, underneath Jenlyns.

RE: Before the Fall Vs. You [Major spoilers] - Nicholas Graveshire - 04-01-2015

My character has fled Ul'dah. He wasn't comfortable with the increase in Brass Blades on the street, but since he is indebted to the Flames and the Flame General, in the public eye, has committed some treachery, he's flown the coup and hiding away from the Immortal Flames. Hopefully he can enjoy his freedom while it lasts. After he finds a new place to live since he packed up what little he had in his Ul'dahn practice, he's traveling to Coerthas to make money a lot of money help the poor souls in that area.

RE: Before the Fall Vs. You [Major spoilers] - Chris Ganale - 04-01-2015

As I said in the other thread, Swift's dialogue leads me to believe that he'd be checking leads on any potentially-loyal current or former Flames, so that's an in at least for Ganale. Tahz is too busy with his mentor in Coerthas (maybe) dying at the Steps of Faith, Chao has her own shit to deal with right now, and none of my Domans have a dog in that fight.

RE: Before the Fall Vs. You [Major spoilers] - Marisa - 04-01-2015

Big day for Ryoko Stormsong. Despite the general ignorance that comes with being someone who literally lives in a utility closet, even she heard of the unrest in Coerthas. I'd been rather enjoying my little plot about searching for the missing sword, but obviously this more or less required Ryoko to return home.

Getting there was simple enough. Sell-swords were headed North by the wagon-load, so getting back to Coerthas was much easier than leaving it in the first place. Once at Camp Dragonhead, she volunteered her services. The Fortemps knights were reluctant to place her and her sister into battle, knowing full well that the Stormsong daughters had no real combat-relevant skills, but they were both old enough to die for their country, and anyone can hold a spear and shield. So they were soon placed among a spear levy, comprised of one hundred and sixty Coerthan peasants and being led by a handful of professional soldiers.

Ryoko's unit never did make it to that bridge. They were intercepted by a patrol of wyverns en route. The inexperienced levymen were wholly unprepared for an ambush, and their numbers rapidly thinned. The battle heavily favored the Dravanian forces. When the Fortemps knights fell, the remaining peasants lost their nerve and the line collapsed. A lucky few broke for the forest, with Ryoko and Mishka among them.

No news of Barrett Stormsong yet. Doubtless he entered the fray on that bridge, but it is yet unknown if he now walks in Valhalla. Either way, Ryoko will most certainly feel great shame for fleeing the battle for some time, but that hasn't even reached her mind yet. Before that battle, she'd never witnessed death. Today, she watched over ten dozen men all brutally slain within a matter of minutes. She's currently crying herself to sleep in a snowbank, afraid to even consider leaving the woods, not knowing of Ishgard's victory. Last she saw, the world was burning down around her.

It was not a fun day.

RE: Before the Fall Vs. You [Major spoilers] - Erik Mynhier - 04-01-2015

Well Erik is out of the Sworn anyway as of after the Royal Ball, so that's one. As for the Flame side, unless someone told Erik directly, which they would not, he knows nothing. He's a soldier after all he knows what he is told. OOC I'm sticking around for the Civil War we all see coming.

He may know the General is in irons, but Erik has great respect for him. If evidence came to public view, Erik would follow Big R in a civil war.
