RE: Seriously, those horns - Azureus Scipio - 05-04-2015

Can't they just do what hellboy does, and sand them down?

RE: Seriously, those horns - allgivenover - 05-04-2015

They're directly connected to the brain and function as both ears and a way to enhance spatial perception, so I'm thinking sanding them down is out.

Personally, I think the Au Ra will be comfortable in their own skin. I can see someone who ICly suddenly becomes one having issues, but they aren't alien to their own body. Even though they are foreign to all the other races; they aren't foreign to themselves because they grew up among their own kind probably and have had lots of years to grow out of the awkward stages. Accidents might happen occasionally, but very little elsewise. Like a miqo'te with its tail and ears, or Roegadyn and Lalafell in their size.

Also the Horns are part of their hearing so I am pretty certain they are very aware of them entirely and they aren't brittle.

The females are so much smaller that it should be easy for them to orient themselves in a way that.. yeah.

I think we're done here.

Er herm, you know what--

You know what will be cute-- Au ra couples touching foreheads affectionately. Yeup.

Then they can't free themselves.

First human flail.

Maybe... like ears... they're rubbery cartilage, and none of these problems are problems. Bahaha... ha... *shrug*

Reading things like this makes me glad I made this thread. Laugh

Good answer!

Well, of course, they'd have adapted to it since they lived with them their whole lives. It's just, from an outsider's point of view... well, I'd rather just not have horns, you know?

I hadn't thought about the tail, but I would guess they sleep on either their sides or their stomachs most of the time. Or maybe even sitting down? Hmmm. Something to ponder.

This might work for their racial clothing, but they can also wear all the same clothing every other race does, so that's a major consideration for them.

Armor is less of a problem because, for the most part, you don't slip them over your head (aside from chain maille that is, which... wow, yeah, that cannot be pleasant for an Au Ra to put on). But imagine trying to put on any standard cotton shirt with those horns in the way. Bleh! What a pain.

That is cute, and I thought of that as well. I suppose that would be one of their most affectionate gestures. Hugs are also doable as long as they face away from one another (assuming you don't have horns facing to the side, that is).

Maybe the Au Ra are all just really into sadomasochism. >:}~

So are many role-players judging by the implications of some of the steamy scenes I've accidentally stumbled across whilst fishing across Eorzea...

Keep it to party chat, people!

I think they would get any of their clothing tailor made to suit them, rather than simply try to slip it over their head. They'd likely see the neck hole and go 'nah mate, that aint fitting in there...' probably what the first female Au Ra thought as well *rimshot*

This is exactly what I was thinking they'd do to be honest. I'm a bit biased towards that show of affection though since my main does it as the highest sign of her affection already, but that's not the point! Au Ra face cuddles shall be had!
